La Cabrera Chile Isidora — Restaurant in Las Condes

We went to La Cabrera Vitacura many times and was always very good, today we visit this one because the other was close. I order a rib eye ao punto and they brought me well done and very salty, fries was good but also very salty, I couldn’t eat and I told the waiter that my meat was over cooked and he asked if I want to another one. I didn’t want to wait for anther meat so he said he will give me desert complimentary (also it was my bday and they said that desert was complementary before that happened). They brought us some complimentary side after we finish the food…. Bad timing We ordered pancakes with dulce de leche and ice cream, they brought pancakes, dulce de leche, ice cream with also cinnamon apple and strawberry on top. Also palta was bad. Service was very slow and poor. Very disappointing. It was a special day and this used to be my favorite restaurant but today they did everything wrong and bad, a complete disaster. I didn’t want to complain but clearly we didn’t liked it because we didn’t eat. And I was expecting that they would do something to try to repair like apologize or remove from the check but nothing was done. We had a fine dinner in a lovely setting under the trees of La Cabrera's sidewalk patio. In fact, we chose it for the ambiance as we were walking by, so we were lucky the food lived up to the promising setting. We skipped starters, but the delicious looking mixed platter of grilled sausages, sweet breads, and empanadas delivered to a neighbouring table almost made me regret it. I had the grilled flank of pork with lemon and parsley... a lovely cut of meat but somewhat overcooked, I thought. My wife and a friend had no such objections for the succulent tenderloin they shared, accompanied by no less than eight different sauces to choose from. The best she's ever had, she claimed. We accompanied those dishes with a huge, crispy fresh arugula salad, a ridiculously delicious corn pie, and provencal frites, which, unfortunately, came out cold. The chicken and ribeye were totally delicious. The rice was very tasty. What blows my mind is that most reviewers stated that service was great. The hostess went out of her way to seat us. She was wonderful, but that’s where great service ended. The server took our food order (only 4 things) without writing it down. One item that arrived at the table was wrong. I told the person that brought it what I had ordered. There was no apology. He snatched it away and several minutes later, the original server returned and dropped the fries off and rapidly turned to walk away. I spoke up and said “excuse me”…he turned around, rolled his eyes and said “ketchup’ and then quickly walked away. He never brought the ketchup. The rest of our meal was ruined because of the attitude. I am Black and American but have no idea if that was the reason. Regardless, it was very disheartening.
