Hotel Don Luis — Hotel in Puerto Montt

I had an early check out (5 a.m.) . I had already paid online before my check in.  There was only one guy at the front desk (who was on the phone). I asked him to open the parking lot so I could get my car out. He then makes a weird request - "Can you transfer me 300 Chilean pesos from your bank account?".  He then pulls out a wad of cash and says he has the money to give me back, but I just need to transfer 300 pesos from the bank account. With emphasis on my bank account. Bear in mind 300 pesos is like 30 cents only. He says it is for keeping the "hotel secured." That made no sense.||I realized this guy was blatantly trying to scam the hotel guests. So, I said in a loud annoyed tone, "Absolutely not. I'm not transferring anything. ". He said something to his partner on the phone and hung up. And quickly walked out with me to open the parking lot. He didn't utter a word after that.||I wasn't sure if this guy was a lone wolf or connected. So, I waited until I'm back home before writing this review.  ||If the management is reading this, it was the person at the front desk on Nov24th early morning (5am). We found this hotel outstanding - great central location, easy walk to many attractions. |The staff made us feel very welcome (even though we spoke no Spanish) they helped us with everything and nothing was a effort - thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable & relaxing.|The real surprise was the restaurant on the 2nd level - absolutely outstanding- not what we were expecting - the quality of the meal and the presentation is World class - something we have not seen for years in our travels.|Even if you’re not staying in the hotel - do visit this restaurant, we cannot recommend this highly enough. Acabo de estar 8 noches en este hotel con mi madre, a la que invité de vacaciones. En general, este hotel no merece ni siquiera 3 estrellas. Para empezar, las habitaciones que dan hacia calle Urmeneta son extremadamente bulliciosas en la noche. De hecho, todas (insisto en TODAS) las noches de aprox. las 22:00 a las 05:00 se escucha permanentemente música (REGGEATON) en una disco cercana. |Las ventanas no están insonorizadas y la única solución es un par de tapones de espuma que se dejan encima del frigobar y que pueden solicitar a personal de recepción. (!)|Debido al cambio climático Puerto Montt ya no es la ciudad del sur de Chile en la que hace frío y llueve constantemente, por lo que las habitaciones parecen verdaeros saunas, ya que ninguna cuenta con aire acondicionado o climatizador (!)|El baño es del tamaño de una caja de fósforos. Ni siquiera tiene un gancho para colgar la ropa y tiene un (supuesto) extractor de aire que no extrae nada. El baño se llena de vapor, el espejo, etc... Lo único bueno acá es la preción del agua y la temperatura, que se puede regular muy fácilmente.|El desayuno es uno de los más pobres que yo haya visto en mi vida....frutas mínimas (sólo uvas y sandía o melón), el huevo se acaba a cada rato y se demoran un kilo en reponer, de repente ni siquiera hay pan, mantequilla, etc.....y se jactan de tener una máquina que prepara de manera automática cafés, leches, etc.... la cual pasa llena de gente. Se hace siempre una fila para usarla.|Lo único rescatable, y por lo cual le puse 2 estrellas en vez de sólo una, es por el servicio de aseo y el restaurant. Este último, entrega muy buena comida a precios más que razonables, aunque hay veces en que, especialmente en las tardes, no hay personal suficiente para atender a todos los comensales, por lo que hay que llevar una paciencia de sobra...
