At first impressions, the room looked like the pictures that they posted online, so there was a sense of great relief with that. However, the devil is in the details.
The workers on the first note were friendly and always willing to help. They greeted us, and they were quick whenever we needed help. They also provided a lunch box if you had a tour, so that was nice (though I didn't try it, the option was there). We dont use whatsapp but the main way of communication for the workers was through that. So if you had a problem that needed to be solved right away you needed to contact them through the app as there was no phone in the room.
It was a shame that at closer inspection, there was hair in between the sheets, and there were spider webs in the corner of the room. We also decided to check the screen door and found out that it was open and the lock was broken. (The worker was quite nice to fix it right away) On our second day, we realized that there was a spider in our room, and we realized again that the door was open. So, I don't know if someone entered our room and looked at our stuff.
The room also didn't have any sort of fan or AC, so it was quite hot during the night.
The bathroom that we had was clogged, and the water didn't go down the drain at all. We asked the workers to fix it and though they spent time to unclog it, the water still didn't go down the drain so while you were taking a shower there was a lot of backwash, and that's gross if you think about that.
The window on inspection was see-through, so I was always scared that someone could see me while showerjng. And the window didn't close properly, so there were bugs flying and crawling in the bathroom.
We were on the first floor and you could hear everything on the second floor. Every step, every cough, every creak, every chair move, everything. It seemed that there wasn't good soundproofing.
There was breakfast, but no one really explained to us what the options were (there was bread hidden away and other things that we could have eaten), so we at first thought that the...
Read moreThe 2 guys working here, Carlos and Marco, are possibly the nicest and happiest people we have ever met! Carlos was so helpful and provided us a lot information and recommendations for things to do around Atacama! The lodge is located a short 10 minute walk to the centre of town and has the most beautiful backyard view of the volcanoes! This was such a nice surprise. The rooms are immaculate, the beds are huge and extremely comfortable. The bathroom is also clean and quite large with hot showers. They clean the rooms each day so when you come back from a long day of tours, you’re coming back to a nice clean room! Marco is also so sweet and accommodating, always making sure we had enough snacks to take with us on our tours! The hospitality at Foresta Lodge is just amazing! We love that it is a quiet place with few rooms so it always felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. They also have the MOST adorable dogs and cats living and roaming around onsite. They are all super friendly and love meeting the guests 🥹🤍. I highly recommend Foresta Lodge for your stay in San Pedro Atacama!! Thank you for all that you do...
Read moreAn accommodation in the middle of greenery where you can sit down and just relax. There are also hammocks for the guests, just would need some cleaning :-)
Rooms wooden, clean, comfortable beds, we just missed shower gel in bathroom. There is no A/C but we never needed it, it was even a bit cold in the room one night - but there is an electric heating for some extra cold nights. Room was cleaned every day. We had a small balcony and a great view from it. One negative, you can hear everything - from downstairs or other guests on the wooden stairs..
Breakfast simple, I missed some fruit (just apples were available) or more pastry types but hey, we are in the middle of desert so this is fine. Klaus was always very helpful, friendly, ready to solve...
