This hotel can be summed up as a 3 star hotel charging 5 star prices. We had reasonably high expectations of our one night stay at the hotel given we paid about $280 for the night. The room itself was nice and spacious and had all of the amenities you would expect. Unfortunately the shower was slightly broken so water would come out of both the top and bottom shower head and the switch was broken. The room had a heating system but no thermostat to control your own temperature (slightly annoying but the room was warm so we managed). Lastly, there was a coffee machine but we were told we could only use one capsule each for free and after that would be charged which is very disappointing for the price we paid.
The restaurant was average. We ate dinner there and the food was nothing special but not too expensive either. Breakfast was included in our room but this was another disappointment. The spread was small, the pastries and bread were stale and there was no staff there to replenish supplies. The butter had run out but of course there was no one to ask to get more, there were scrambled eggs available but no egg station (which is available at every other hotel at this price point).
Lastly, the hotel didn't have their own transfer service to the airport. They enlisted a third party company to do the transfers. When we asked for a transfer to Calama airport we asked for the transfer at 10:30. The best they could do was a range of 10:30-11:15. So we essentially had to sit around in reception hoping the transfer would come on time to make our flight. The transfer was also a group transfer (not a huge issue but the fact that a hotel this expensive didn't have their own transfer service is very disappointing).
Overall, our stay was very average and the hotel is not worth the price they were asking. Look elsewhere if you need a place to stay in San...
Read moreOur trip organiser booked us into this ‘luxury’ hotel so not sure how much they paid per night, but it was advertised on the desk as over $300 a night. Luxury, it is not. My husband says basic. I say shabby. There aren’t any comfortable places to sit, neither in the room nor reception. There are sofas in reception and a small lounge area but they’re quite hard and pretty unwelcoming when you’ve been out all day in the desert. Our room, 21, overlooks 2 masts. There’s paint peeling and skirting boards with damage. Shower plug is missing. No usable power points at one side of the bed. The walls in the room and public areas are dirty and I wouldn’t have stepped in the pool for the same reason. There’s a laminated message sternly telling you you’ll be charged for any marks on towels. And having used the coffee machine this morning we came back to a card saying that was our quota - one coffee capsule per guest per stay. We’re here three nights! The bed is ok, although not well made so the bottom sheet got entangled during the night. The sheets are too small for the bed. There was a strange hum all night, maybe our, or the room next doors fridge. No air con. Breakfast ok but nothing special. We asked about upgrading our room, and they couldn’t check because the towns internet was down. But nobody came back to us about it. No one showed us around eg where the breakfast room is. No one to help take luggage to or from the room. I’m not sure whose definition of luxury they’re using, but it ain’t mine.|Good points - It’s well located in San Pedro, three blocks from the main drag. Women and Swedish guy on reception...
Read moreAvoid – Misleading Facilities and Dishonest Management
We stayed at Noi Casa Atacama expecting the advertised amenities—jacuzzi, pool, pool bar, and sauna—which were a major reason for our booking. Unfortunately, all of these facilities were either broken, filthy, or completely unusable during our stay.
We raised our concerns with staff from the moment we arrived and followed up each day, both in person and in writing, and we have photographic evidence to support our claims. The hotel manager, Javiera Vargas, instructed us to send a final email summarizing our complaint, which we did—only for her to later deny ever receiving any complaints or emails, and falsely claim that alternatives were offered. This is simply not true.
Failing to maintain your facilities is already unacceptable for a hotel of this price and advertised standard. But denying guests’ legitimate complaints and distorting the facts afterward reflects a deeply unethical approach to hospitality.
Avoid this hotel unless you’re comfortable paying full price for broken promises and misrepresentation.
We stayed at a different hotel in the area before and have a significantly better experience. Look for other hotel instead and only trust review that show you current pictures of the hotel. The pictures of NOI shown on the website and instagram are old...
