+|It's close to everything (though not hard in san pedro)|Rooms are clean and not too hot (I had the 4 bed room)|Easy to meet people |Flexible |Nice yard to hang out (only 2 hamrocks but I spend still a lot of time in them. Not impossible to get like some write)|Hot showers from 9-21||-|Kitchen sometimes dirty (though more fault of some guests who can't clean up behind themselves)|Toilets a bit dirty and without paper at times|The I presume owner could be friendlier (once my friend carried the dishes to the sink and he told us 2 seconds after to wash them even though the friend who wanted to do that just wanted to finish her cigarette too. Also he seemed to not really care about his guests)|No guests allowed ||Also a thing which I can put into any category depending what you plan the next day.|The sign said: please keep quiet after midnight. |Perfekt rule for me but the owner interpreted it the way we had to immediately leave the common area and either go to bed or leave the hostel (where to? The desert?!)|So two nights when I had to get up early I appreciated it and two nights I was annoyed because not even a little chat outside was allowed and the one night we really were just talking in normal voices. So a bit more flexibility for that rule would be nice.||Still would recommend this place and it's possibly the cheapest (9000$ for...
Read moreI stayed in this hostel in 2004-2005 and it was a great place. On that time was not part of the hostel world or other other travel guides, it was an anonymous hostel in San Pedro. I arrived from Bolivia and I noticed that the bus to Argentina had left on the day before and it was necessary wait 4 days for the next one... I thought that 4 days in San Pedro could be a lost of time and on the first night I stayed in other hostel in San Pedro on the center (recommended by hostel world, guides, bla, bla, bla) to try get a ticket to other place on the next day, including return by Bolivia to Argentina again. However on the last minute we changed plans and we contacted on that time Francisco, a guy from Santiago that had tried pick us on the day before to Jurike Hostal. SO, we styed in the hostal 3-4 days and it was amazing, sandboard, bikes, BBQ in the hostel and in the lagunas, football game with locals, drinks, lots of funny people, etc. As I said in 2004 it was a very good experience and if the staff still the same or similar,...
Read moreOk hostel, double rooms were nice. Price is reasonable for San Pedro de Atacama but expensive for other south american countries. Showers were warm enough and fairly clean, toilets are super small and a bit of squeeze to sit on if your tall at all. Also the WiFi is essentially nonexistent and does not work anywhere...unless maybe everyone else is asleep and not using it.
Slight problem that after confirming we could extend for a night in the same room we were told fairly late in the evening that the only room they had was a single room. This room had a tree in the middle of it. Couldn't find anywhere last minute due to lack of WiFi. Room was ok, maybe not for two.
Major issue with the fact that they have kittens living on the roof of one side of the hostel. Roof is corrugated iron, kittens like playing all night long. So very...
