NOTE: the location on Google Maps of this hotel was not correct as of August 24. This is common in China, but please note that the hotel is NOT 20 minutes walking distance from Tienanmen Square, it is at least 1 hour and 30.
LOCATION: not so convenient for public transport (20 minutes walking) and not near to any attraction. Nevertheless it is well served with cafè, supermarkets and shops all around.
ROOMS: we got a 'deluxe room' which had nothing luxury. No natural light, not too big. Window facing the internal restaurant. Big plus was the washing and drying machine in our room, but it is not available in all rooms, just check if you need one. Bathroom was small but new and clean.
BREAKFAST: overall good, more salty choices rather than sweet as in all China, but a choice of croissants and marmelade is available. Fresh fruit, live-cooked eggs and cafè available. Noodles and dumplings always available.
STAFF: English level very poor. Only possible to communicate by means of translator on the phone.
CLEANING CONDITION: rooms get cleaning service every day, change of towels also when not left on the floor. The hotel itself is well cleaned, the only negative side is a not pleasant smell in some floors, probably because many rooms also have kitchen and are used by resident people for medium-long rents.
SWIMMING POOL: last floor, covered but open on the centtral side. It is well maintained and refreshing, the space around is not so big (6 sunbeds and 4 chairs).
GYM: HUGE! probably as the hotel is used also as medium-long term residence. Biggest one I have seen in a hotel so far, well maintained and equipped.
AIR CONDITIONING: freezing, everywhere. It can be controlled in the room, in common areas is insanely cold.

Read moreThis is a great hotel, likely one of the best of its price range. The location is just between the main square/forbidden city and the financial district, 12 minutes walking on a large boulevard to Jianguomen station, and well connected to every area, including the airport. On the hotel street, there are many restaurants, shops and services. The hotel itself is very modern and clean, with an emphasis on cleanliness. The rooms are functionally designed and the kitchenette is a bonus. I loved the ladder-style bedroom, where you sleep comfortably but don't sacrifice space, the ladder retracts and there is ample living and storage space. There is free laundry on-site with detergent and dryers included. The breakfast is large and versatile, not too 'western' but definitely there is something for anyone and everyone, with new items every day and with everything kept fresh. From eggs many ways, to salads, noodles, vegetables stir frys, dumplings, steamed root veggies, sausage and bacon, noodle soup.. The gym is better equipped than many European gyms with a great view. The pool is not as good as shown in the photos, it is small and only one person at a time can use it for swimming with a lifeguard constantly overlooking it. The large living room area is very cosy for spending time in, around the bookshelves and aquarium and piano music. All hotel staff is super friendly and helpful for any question or request. With the limited information available online for many places in China, I was very happy to have booked this hotel and highly...
Read moreI would definitely come back to this hotel but I would also definitely make sure that I booked a room with a microwave and washer. There was only a stove and no pans or anything so as a foreigner getting takeout I had no way to re heat any food. I also thought I had booked a room with a washer and this was not the case, but there are free washers, dryers, and ironing boards that were easy to use on a different floor. The front desk people were friendly and I was able to keep my bags there after checking out and before heading back to the airport. The room was enough but it was just barely big enough for a solo traveler with a big suitcase and I would definitely book a bigger space next time. The bed also only had a very big/thick duvet so I woke up sweating. I would recommend the hotel fixes the cabinet doors that open to the mini fridge. It was nice having a fridge and freezer but the cabinet doors that opened to the fridge part were too low and scraped in the floor each time. Would definitely only recommend the small room I got for a solo traveler- I really don’t know how it would work if there were two big suitcases to be opened in that room. Overall tho I am thinking about booking the same hotel for my next trip to China, it was my first visit and it went amazing and the hotel was definitely a factor that played into that !! There’s convenience stores and food all around and bikes available to rent...
