Utterly charming, every detail is perfect. Old time character but modern conveniences. The most beautiful room and the most comfortable bed... I do recommend splurging for the deluxe room if you can. The best customer service we have encountered in China. The restaurant is superb, if a little pricey for the area. This is in a pedestrian district so no cars = tons of little shops and no noise. The surrounding streets are easy to get lost in but you won't mind... There is so much to see! I wish I could live in this hotel. One caveat: There are no elevators, and no rooms on the ground floor, so if you are physically impaired or the Chengdu air is shredding your lungs, you might have a bad time. The porter will cheerfully whisk up your bags. He must be the most fit man in the city, like Olympian level fitness.

Great location with plenty of cafes, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. However, accessing the hotel is a bit challenging as cars can't drop off directly in front; the nearest drop-off point is at Jinwei Dumplings shop. The staff are friendly and offer free drinking water, with more available upon request at the front desk. The hotel has nice decoration, but the showers are small and the rooms can have a slight odor. Despite good water pressure in the shower, there's no elevator, making it difficult to carry luggage to upper floors. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 9:30, though the selection is minimal but decent in taste. Check-out is at 12pm, but they're flexible and can extend it to 2pm.

Absolutely lovely hotel, friendly staff and beautifully decorated. Breakfast is good, wifi is fast and laundry service was cheap and quick compared to other hotels, making it a great choice for those out on longer trips. It's in a quiet part of the area too, shielded by other buildings, with a really nice street filled with nice shops and restaurants. Only a minute away is wenshu monastery, providing a beautiful park area for those who like to go for a walk and get som peace and quiet. And it's only a short 3 minute walk away from the subway.

The room was quiet and comfortable and clean. Had a little sitting room + bedroom. Balcony over the street. Foot traffic in this older area, no cars. Taxi driver wasn't sure about dropping us off at 11:45 pm, but found someone who pointed us down an alley to the place we needed to turn to get to hotel. We walked with our bags, 1/2 block. Finally got there, staff waiting. No elevator, the desk person carried our bags up. English by app on their phone - worked fine. ||Good customer service. Breakfast buffet, Chinese options and western options. Chopsticks and western utensils. We found enough to be full. Coffee machine, worked well. A quiet place at the time we were there. At night, nearby music did serenade us, but by 11 pm, all was quiet. Rainy days, they have umbrellas to borrow at desk. The driver who came to get us our final day, did walk to the hotel to get us; then we followed him out to his car parked aways. In all we walked about 2-3 blocks to get to his car.||Great location for getting to tourist places. We stayed local, walked to Wenshu Monastery; local shopping and food. Only here 2 days before...

I recently stayed at a lovely hotel with a fantastic location near popular tourist spots. However, getting there from the main road with big luggage can be a bit tiring due to the rocky pedestrian road and the somewhat hidden entrance. Despite this, the overall experience was delightful. The service at the hotel was excellent. The staff kindly helped us carry our heavy luggage upstairs (the hotel has three levels and no elevator). We tried to tip the porter for their help, but they politely declined, embodying a true zen helping mindset without any ulterior motives. The hotel itself was quite clean, although some parts were a bit run down. It didn't detract much from our stay, but it's worth noting. On the plus side, there’s a very good noodle house right beside the hotel, perfect for a quick and delicious meal. For those who enjoy thematic hotels, this place might be an excellent choice. It has a unique charm that adds to the overall experience. Despite a few minor inconveniences, I would recommend this hotel for its great location, excellent service, and...
