I recently stayed at Dorsett Chengdu, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel is centrally located, making it convenient for exploring Chengdu’s top attractions, including Kuanzhai Alley and Tianfu Square. The nearby metro station was a huge plus for getting around the city with ease. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the concierge team was always available to offer recommendations and assistance. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch that made us feel welcome. The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed, a large desk for working, and a well-equipped bathroom with high-quality toiletries. I especially appreciated the thoughtful details, such as complimentary bottled water, slippers, and a selection of teas. The floor-to-ceiling windows provided stunning views of the city skyline, which was a highlight of our stay. The hotel’s breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of options to cater to both Western and Chinese tastes. From freshly made dim sum and noodles to classic pastries and fresh fruits, everything was delicious and of high quality. The dining area was spacious, and the service staff were attentive and efficient.Dorsett Chengdu also offers fantastic facilities, including a well-maintained gym and a relaxing lounge area. Although I didn’t have time to visit the spa, it looked inviting, and I’d love to try it on my next visit. Another standout feature was the complimentary smartphone provided in the room, which came with internet access and was incredibly helpful for navigating the city.Overall, Dorsett Chengdu exceeded my expectations in every way. It offers exceptional value for money, combining luxurious comfort with top-notch service and an unbeatable location. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chengdu and will definitely stay here again on...
Read moreI had an outstanding experience at Dorsett. I arrived in Chengdu super early in the morning from overseas. While checking in, I asked if it was possible to let me check in a little earlier than normal and the reception staff (English name "Sunshine") was graciously accommodating. However, while waiting in the lobby until my promised check-in time arrived, the front desk manager (English name "Cinderella") arrived at around 8:00 to start her shift. She saw me sitting in the lobby looking tired and immediately checked with her coworkers on my situation. Then she approached me, said that she found out about my situation from her staff and immediately checked me in, much before the official time. In addition, she upgraded me to a better room. It was quite a pleasant surprise. After a long international flight, I was able to relax in a very comfortable bed. I hope that employees like Cinderella are proactively appreciated by the management for their hard work and excellent service attitude and given more senior positions. She certainly deserves it. And I wish this level of service becomes a common occurrence everywhere. P.S: After I left the room to meet a friend, I came back to find fruits, plates and complementary Evian water laid out on the table for me Another pleasant surprise. The room heating may need an upgrade. Hope that is made stronger in the future.Definitely staying here...
Read moreI normally do not write bad reviews. But I have to. This hotel is a disgrace. Firstly I tried to come back at night, the hotel electricity is broken so can’t go up to my room on the 32 floor. I was told to wait. So I waited almost 4 hours. Eventually, they told me the elevator works. But then, when I got inside - I got completely stuck inside. In the darkness alone. I called the reception on my phone who did not help at all. I was trapped inside for 40 minutes. Then eventually the lift started again and took my to the basement. When I finally made it to the lobby they said I must wait again. Finally after 5am I managed to get into my room. I had no sleep. The next day I tried to go downstairs and again the elevator is broken so I am trapped upstairs. If there is a fire we are all dead. When I got downstairs finally I asked to check out and for them to refund me my money. All day they made excuses and refused to refund my money. I still have no refund. This is worse than unacceptable, this is a scam. Also there was an exposed knife left in the lobby where any crazy person could take it. This hotel is totally unsafe. No concern for their guests at all. Nobody should stay here....
