Not a single person in the entire airport speaks much English. There are restaurants that don't even have menus in anything other than Chinese. If you have also fallen for the 144 hour Visa exemption myth, beware that it's just not true and even on a long layover, you cannot leave the airport and are basically a prisoner for the duration of your transit. It's best to actually get a visa in advance of your trip because immigration officials have full discretion as to whether the 144 hour visa exemption is even allowed or not.
