I went on a weekday evening. Super extensive and many areas for recreation and relaxation but all empty (as shown in the photos - no one at all). Then I realised they were all at the dining area - even then, there wasn’t a crowd and it was easy to get tables. The food selection was also really extensive - mainly Chinese dishes but there’s also some western and Indian cuisine. There are two downsides: 1) The staff being too attentive and overly friendly. E.g. a male staff helped wrap my towel around me as I changed out of my clothes, and then he came to help dry me with a towel the moment he saw that I was done at the shower. He then showed me around the sauna area. Of course, all this for a tip, which he politely asked for at the end. 2) The staff being too pushy in suggesting I go for a massage. Right after the buffet dinner, a female staff approached me and asked to trade WeChat contacts so I can easily arrange a massage through her. I told her I’m too full now but she persisted in asking for a contact. I had to insist a few times to say I’ll think about it later.

24/7 all ages spa. Massages on demand, cafeteria at set hours. Breakfast lunch dinner supper. Sauna, hot pool, cold plunge, showers, all amenities included. Movies screened in theatre setting, e-gaming area, classic arcade area, private movie rooms for couples, gym, billiards, chess room, library, camping theme area, kids play area. Very local, bath is traditional health format so be ready to see/bare all. Service is almost too attentive at times. Remember they are running a business so always trying to sell or nudge you to book an activity. Just be polite and you’ll receive the same. Stayed for 24 hours. Sleeping can be difficult in the communal rest areas where the sofa converts to a single bed. Snorers and people coming and going, chatting or watching movies on personal screens at all times of night/day. It’s to be expected. Pay for a private movie room if you want absolute silence. Or just wear the provided earplugs or eye mask.

I've been here 3 times already in a year and I recommend this to anyone visiting Guangzhou. The location is very convenient, located just outside Guangzhou East Railway Station. The place is very clean and you can choose to stay for an 18-hour stay or 24-hour stay. It comes with buffet 4 times a day, which is amazing, I binged so much during my stay. The hot springs, saunas, and changing rooms are segregated by gender. I felt very safe during my stay. 👍🏼 They have a shared accommodation style room, with comfy sofa beds that recline and come with phone chargers. But they also offer private sleeping rooms. The only thing that costs extra are the massage services, which are very affordable and relaxing.

This was my second and last visit to number 9 spa. I went on a Thursday night and had a wonderful time except that the food is timed and I was not aware of that and even when not timed the food was just average. The facilities are immaculate. The resting area and movie area is terrific. The karaoke room and pool tables and computers was a big bonus and the staff was incredibly caring and attentive. On the first visit it was actually a novelty to have five people call you boss and have two people. Take your socs off and one person take your underwear off and everybody being incredibly attentive. However, they then put their hands out for gratuities and even people that did nothing for you. Expect a gratuity and then after I give them an extremely generous gratuity for doing things that I did not request and not need. They asked me for more but it was a novelty to be treated like that. So I went back the next day and this is where things turn South. Everybody recognize me from the day before and perhaps I'm one of the few people that gives gratuities or gives very generous fativities. But I had a swarm of attendance on top of me from the minute I walked in and I again gave Jenner's gratuities because they were leaving their shift and then I would not be able to give them a gratuity later. But again more people came over with their hands out and even when I gave a very generous gratuity they wanted more. The problem really ensued her when I was leaving early in the morning and in a bit of a hurry to catch a train for Hong Kong. Wayne, when I was getting dressed there must have been no less than 10 people asking me for money and when I had no more r&b they were asking for US dollars and it was very overbearing but the worst was when I was checking out at registration and told the receptionist that I did not have my prepaid hand massage and that I was owed about 53 RMB for about 15 or 20 minutes time which I did not have to spare. There seem to either be confusion or a lack of money to give me and as I did not have WeChat or alipay I suggested they just put the money back on the credit card which is what I used to pay for in the first place and I told him I was in an extreme Rush and finally I had to leave to make my train and after a mostly very relaxing experience which is why I went to the spa in the first place. I left extremely upset on my last day in China. What a shame. I take responsibility for letting their actions upset me so much, but I was told on my trip to China that people did not expect gratuities and perhaps I'm somewhat responsible for giving them when not asked or giving too generously and helping to instill greed in these people. Nevertheless, the manager must be aware of this situation as I have read reviews from people that have experienced the same type of unrelenting hustle and front desk issues. I will not be returning to this spa. I will choose to go to the several others that are in Guangzhou and be assured nobody will receive any gratuity and finally, I understand China to be electronically advanced, certainly over the US. In many respects, I do not understand why they cannot have a tablet or computer on top of the desks at hotels and especially places catering to the many business visitors to the Canton Fair from many countries that would make communication so much easier. It seems that I have to use Google translate and speak in English and hope that it comes out in understandable. Chinese and then the Chinese person then has to go on their phone and try to communicate with me....

My boyfriend and I went to No 9 Spa for a relaxing massage, foot massage, and pedicure today, and left with mixed feelings. ||||The front of house was terribly rushed and aggressive, making us feel uneasy leaving our belongings in their lockers, because who knows what was going to happen once we were in the treatment rooms? They needed to use their own key to open our lockers, so we were not sure if they could access the lockers when we were not there. All our possessions were in there. ||||Things didn’t start out calm. We both wanted traditional Chinese massages, but there was only one masseuse there who did so, resulting in me taking a Thai massage, which was fine. ||||I was asked half way through the massage if I wanted genital manipulation for extra money, which I declined. My boyfriend’s masseuse didn’t arrive for at least 15 minutes in the room without explanation of who was coming and when. ||||From the massage, we went on to the foot massage area, where we both got massages, but only I got a pedicure. We both ordered pedicures, and they were to happen simultaneously, but that didn’t happen, so we went on to the buffet room for lunch, which was included. Adequate food, lots of it. ||||The weirdness happened in the pool and change room areas. The male staff there were all over us, trying to dry us off, literally in our faces the whole time. As 10% gratuity was added to the bill, we didn’t understand why they were working so hard to annoy us for money. ||||Sure, my cute boyfriend was cruised by patrons and staff alike, but that wasn’t so bad. The real issue was the male attendants in front of house and the change room/pool area. If they would tone down their hustle, it would have been more enjoyable, but for 1185RMB/CDN$240 for the two of us, it...

I usually go to #9 once a month and get the Japanese massage. Miss 012 is my “technician” each time I go. She is very professional, yet friendly, and never asks for extra money. It is so much sexier when they are not greedy. You can have her “finish” you off or not. I do and I have never been jerked off like that in My entire life.|||| If you don’t have a significant other, I highly recommend miss 012 to finish you off as they say. Some of the other girls I find to be either really greedy or just not very good at their job. ||||Aside from that, the pool is nice. It could be a little warmer. The steam room and sauna are ok. ||||The staff in changing room is truly annoying, always calling you “boss” thinking that every time they say boss, you will give them a tip. I leave 10 r m b for them just to keep the peace and I’m a regular.||||Compared to new star in Shanghai, no comparison. New star is still the king (staff always leaves you alone, girls are amazing- and I’ve never been jerked off there, there are so many different types of rooms to hangout in). But you gz, I haven’t found any place...
