I have stayed here before in their 'off-season', right after the Spring Festival', and the place is generally pretty quiet, and (as was the case last time) pieces of it were being renovated. This time I visited later, and happened to catch it in the throes of the Canton Fair business convention - and it was mobbed! Lots of buses of people in and out, and the breakfast service was super-busy every morning. However, their staff handled it all in stride, and the various renovations they have been doing really paid off in comfortable rooms and well-presented public spaces. I do wish they'd give their spa and gym some attention (both have been on-and-off closed for a while). ||The staff were especially good this time (or at least they felt that way because more of them spoke more and better English), and concerns I had regarding he billing (as I was visiting with a student, paying for two rooms), never materialized. Read moreWas checked in for the Canton Fair Oct 2019 with my wife and business partner in a different room. We all arrived late at around 12midnight and were upgraded to a suite with its own living room which was awesome. ||I didnt get the breakfast so i cant say anything about their food. Our room rate was around 120usd a night since it is the fair season.||Pros:|Located in a nice quiet and safe place|Rooms were a bit old but they cleaned it daily. |Cheap rates compared to other hotels|Good cheap chinese restaurants on the next building||Cons:|-Since the location was behind the guangzhou east railway, it was a long 15-20min walk to the station and about 30min walk away from the nearest commercial center.|-Only a few buses to the fair servicing hotel guests.
