Star Hotel — Hotel in Guangzhou City

Once a 4 Star Hotel, they have invested ZERO in thirty years. This Property is now a DUMP. The Hallways, and worse the Rooms, smell of MOLD ! I went through three Rooms before I found one even close to acceptable. Also, if you do not speak Chinese, STAY AWAY. There is only one Front Desk Manager who sort of speaks English. There are four Restaurants, without one English Speaking Staff. There are NO English Menus except the Japanese Restaurant which has very interesting and unintelligible CHINGLISH descriptions. The Breakfast is absolutely ABOMINABLE !!! What should be Hot is Room Temperature, except the Rice Congee that is barely warm. There are zero Western selections except day or two old stale white bread. Because they do not read or Speak English, the plastic dish identifiers are totally wrong. AND.... most of the plates are still dirty. Disgusting !!!. ALL of the In-Room...

If you are looking for a pleasant hotel to stay in, look no further! Have stayed at this hotel every time I visit China and would not stay anywhere else. A 4 star hotel with a homely atmosphere, the interior decor is elegant. All the staff are open and friendly as well as very accommodating and helpful. Rooms are the perfect size and offer a full range of commodities. The main restaurant in the hotel offers delicious local food and some of the best poultry I have tried! Situated in the perfect area with a wide range and large number of local restaurants nearby. Also just opposite the Guangzhou East Railway Station with bus, underground and train transport meaning that it could not be more convenient to travel within Guangzhou, nearby cities or even Hong Kong.
