I was looking for a decent 3/4 star hotel in Tianhe district for a 1 night stay last minute (the night before arriving in Guangzhou) and eventually picked this hotel based on the very good price being advertised on Booking.com and its central location in Tianhe. I can say that I am actually very pleased with my choice.||||I had a double room that was surprisingly spacious for the most basic room type, plenty of room even for 2 persons. There is a separate bedroom with a tv, a good size living room with another tv, a couch and a 2 seater sofa and a study desk. The layout and deco of the room is quite nice. The room and furniture are also well maintained. The bathroom was modern, well lit, very roomy with a bathtub as well as a great size separate shower. I didn't not experience any problem with hot water as some fellow reviewers mentioned in their reviews here. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean when I checked in.||||There were a safe and a kettle in the room. 2 bottles of free water per day were provided. Minibar (some canned soft drinks, Chinese herbal tea and beer) was free which was nice. There is free wifi in the room and entire hotel and the speed is pretty decent.||||The hotel has a small but adequte gym and a sauna which are nice for relaxing after a long day. ||||The location is fantastic, very convenient for getting around either by taxi, bus or train. It is in the middle of Tianhe district and close to many large shopping malls such as ZhengJia Plaza, Tianhe City (TEE) Mall and the very high end Tai Koo Hui (all less than 10 minutes away on a taxi). The historical Shamian Island is about half an hour away. The location is more quiet since it is on a smaller street off the bustling Linhe Road Central but only 3 minutes walk to the East Railway station/bus station and the Po Park Shopping Plaza that has a departmental store, a very good supermarket on the lower ground floor, Starbucks, clothing stores such as Muji and Uniqlo, and some cafes, restaurants and a good food court. Heaps of dining options within walking distance from the hotel. ||||Staffs are polite, hepful and professional. I sent an email the night before my arrival with some room requests and they replied the very next morning. The front desk staffs spoke good English and check in and check out were efficient. ||||The breakfast was served in a small restaurant that could get a little crowded when busy (even at 7am). The breakfast spead was average with a decent selection of Asian and continental breakfast such as fried noodles, dimsum, bread, rolls, croissant and other pastries. The omelette station was a much appreciated addition.||||Overall, it is a fantastic medium size 4 star business hotel representing excellent value for the price. I will definitely return in the future when in Guangzhou for business and will recommend...
Read moreThis Hotel is a really awesome choice if you want a hotel in central Guangzhou with good service and at a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. Special requests have been handled well. The room comes with all necessary items and the bed was comfortable. You can tell the hotel is already a bit old fashioned but actually this has its own charm. Even though it might not be the most modern place out there it is clean and well maintained. The true win is its central location. Its only 5 minutes by foot to Guangzhou East Station, there is also a huge shopping mall and you can access subway line 1 and 3 (airport line). From there you can quickly get anywhere in the city. Only beware of Rushhour it will be very crowded. As for the optional offers of the hotel, I personally recommend not booking any meals but instead explore the huge amount of restaurants, bars and shops in Guangzhou. Also just downstairs at the hotel (exit lobby go left and enter the building again) there is a very very good Cantonese Dim Sum place. Across the road there are also many good restaurant choices. All in all this hotel was worth the price paid and we had a very...
Read moreIt is a good hotel, the facility reflects a bit luxury full service hotel. Room was spacious, clean, with double beds, nice bathroom with bathtub, and courtesy drinks, coffee and tea, and after checkout they are happy to offer left luggage service. The location is really good, it is 10 minutes walking distance from Guangzhou East Railway Station (for trains and Metro). However, because Google Map is not working (disabled) in China, so easily you can get lost and impossible to find this hotel. So the easy way is when you use trains or METROs (from Airport is Line 3) always exit from Gate F of Guangzhou East Railway Station, then walk along Linhe Middle road 500m, and turn left to Zijing Rd 200m, on the left is the hotel. The finding effort becomes more difficult because most of the local people cannot speak English at all, so definitely you need smart phone Translator App to convert English to Chinese characters. This difficult communication issue becomes more annoying when the hotel staff were also have a very limited English capability, specially when dealing with serious matters like payment with credit card, deposit and refund, double charge etc, a...
