Guilin Central Hostel — Hotel in Guilin

Taking the less traditional rout of an adventurous backpackers honeymoon throughput China, we knew we would have to stay at hostels in some of the times but still wanted to have good accommodation - and this hostel turned out to be the perfect choice! The location is excellent, next to the river and close to all the attractions, in a very lively area. The staff was sooo nice, kind and helpful - always smiling and having useful advice. The hostel offer some tours around Guilin for a cheaper cost. The hostel food menu is marvelous (especially after suffering through the food in China for two weeks) and breakfast, although in extra cost and not so cheap, was a great way to start the day. The room was pretty big although basic in its decor, shower products were really good and everything was clean. The downstairs lobby was stylish and fun, an easy place to have chats and make new friends. Overall, one of the best hostels...

This was a superb hostel, and far exceeded our expectations. The location is superb, a couple of minutes walk to the main pedestrian street, across the road is a great food market and various restaurants at your fingertips, couple of minutes walk to river, 5 minutes to the lake, the rooms were clean, modern and quiet, we had a twin private room with private bathroom, there is shower gel, shampoo, kettle and european plug sockets, our room was on the second floor, but only 20 stairs up to it and the staff took our cases up for us. The beds were sooooo comfy. There is card entry to access the stairs and also a drawer in room with a lock on for valuables. The cafe downstairs was great and did superb breakfasts and coffees, there is a bar with drinks too. Staff are super friendly, great english and helped with directions to get a bus to daxu, which was very easy. they also got us tickets to the river and lake cruise. Wifi is good. Everything from start to end was good at this Hotel (I don't know why they call it hostel). We stayed here for 3 nights. It was super easy to find the hotel with the guidance given by hotel staff on the email. Location is one of the highlights of this place. We reached there by public transport and it was convenient. Check-in was super easy any beyond my expectations, all the staffs were speaking very good english. Beautiful girl TIVEN helped us at the best. They did not try to sell us any sort of ticket or tour (Which is very common in hotels in Guilin) In-fact we booked our cruise online from some other agent and were facing some communication problem due to language and TIVEN helped us to sort out everything. Our tour operator called her around 10 pm to inform the pickup time and she was kind enough to inform us the same.
