Hyatt Regency Hangzhou — Hotel in Hangzhou City

A solid 5 star rating! Stay was in early Jun 2018, in the Lake View King room.

Restaurant - 28 Hu Bin Road (28湖滨路） We found out this was one of Asia’s Top 50 Restaurants after we had our meal, and it was an experience befitting its reputation.

We only had one main (金牌扣肉）and two small soups, because the serving portion was just too large! This brings me to another plus point- the waitress advised us not to order too much because our main came in a large portion. Not many restaurants will give this sort of advice. 金牌扣肉 alone is worth a 5-star review. I won’t spoil it for you - you have to try this!

Location and view This is within walking distance to a metro station, to the main shopping area in Hangzhou, and is one of the only hotels with a truly unobstructed view of the West Lake.

Not all rooms have an unobstructed view of course; rooms that do are priced slightly higher.

But not much else you can ask for!

Cleanliness of room, service In the two nights we spent there the rooms were clean when we arrived, and kept in good condition throughout. I had some mild fears because many reviewers complained that the interior was dated. I guess this was more than good enough by my standards.

Service was also pretty good- they got us a reservation at 28 Hu Bin Road at short notice, and it wasn’t because they weren’t full. The staff were also generally friendly in comparison to some other chinese hotels.

Absolutely enjoyed my stay. We were there for a week's meeting. Room is spacious and clean. Housekeeping was impressive! It could easily be the best housekeeping in all the hotels I've stayed. I bring a soft toy with me when I travel for work and for leisure. It has become a benchmark for me to see the standard of housekeeping by looking at where they would put my soft toy. LOL. I've seen housekeeping that would just chuck my soft toy aside, along with my other belongings. Not only did Hyatt's housekeeping put my soft toy nicely (of course, most hotels did too), they'd arranged my make up stuffs nicely on a hand towel. Everything was good. The staffs that we've met at recep/concierge/banquet were all courteous and helpful. The sound system in the meeting room was very good. Food was good, quite a lot of choices for breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay! It's a shame that we didn't have time to have a dip in the temperature controlled pool.

It was a great stay at Hyatt Hangzhou with big luxurious rooms & great 'West Lake' & extraordinary shopping street's view from the room. The breakfast & the restaurant served delicious food. In room dining has limited options but the service is always well within 30 mins time. Laundry service is also very prompt.
