I sent a complaint to the Hotel General Manager. There was not even a simple reply from her or from her staff. On the in room IPad, There stated that the General Manager email to help improve my stay experience but it was not the case. A few things did happen on this stay that I will state that will not happen in any other hotel even one that has a lower standard than L'Hotel Élan.
Issue 1 - Noise Complaint This happened at the Terrace of the Hotel. An event was happening there and the guest were really noisy. Even though there is an Noise Ordinance in Hong Kong stating that after 11pm noise made is considered a nuisance, there are rooms above that area of the Hotel and people need their sleep and having a party with noise being made is just wrong. I stayed on the 10th floor and that persistent noise ruined my nights rest. I did made a to the phone operator but they did nothing to say that they will ask the party goers to be more quiet. You have Banquet Staff there to serve the guest, why can you ask them to remind the guests to be more silent. All I was offered was to be moved to a room on a higher floor which is totally okay with me but honestly even a complimentary meal would be an even better idea as moving rooms is such a hassle so in other words the staff are not even a slightest bit considerate.
Issue 2 - Amenities They were not being replenished even though they were used. One key example was the Shower Gel and Shampoo.
But there were a few saving graces that will prevent me from giving a 1 Start review.
Compliment 1 - Concierge with the Les Clefs d'Or I was sick part way of my stay. I asked this Concierge for the nearest doctor opened until 9pm. He found me one. But I feel he can improve as a concierge with a Les Clefs d'Or should know more about the area where his or her hotel is in as well as the city or country it is in.
Compliment 2 - Food Buffet restaurant is good the dining is experience is what you expect of a restaurant in such a nicely decirated and well uniformed hotel staff. Price wise it could be revised to a slightly lower rate even after a generous 20% discount to entice me to spend my money with the restaurant.
I will still be in Hong Kong until the 28th of December But I will be staying at a different hotel having cut my stay short at L'Hotel Élan due to the 2 issues I had with them. though they are small, I am willing to revise my rating about them so long as Hotel Management tries to reach out to me to right their wrongs. They truly deserve a better rating from me but as they failed certain expectations that any normal person will have, the rating was...
Read moreI have stayed at this hotel for 1-2 weeks for the last 3 years. I will continue to stay here and would recommend to a friend.
Staff: very polite from the moment you walk in. I’m greeted every time I enter and leave the building. I also get offers from the hotel staff to help get a cab for me.
-Nothing to improve on here. Top notch! 5 stars!
Rooms: very nice and spacious rooms for Hong Kong. I have never smelled smoke inside the building or my room. They offer a makeup mirror and hair dryer in each room. I have requested extra blankets and an iron w/ board with ease.
-Rating this 4 stats as the bed is slightly hard for me. I sleep on 2/4 pillows that are provided.
Food: Breakfast buffet has a good variety of eastern and western items. Dining area in general is very clean and the service is excellent here as well. Free breakfast if you are staying as a guest....score!
Room service: food was pretty good the couple of times I have tried it. Burger with fries, pizza and salad.
-Rating the food 5 stars. Only area of improvement would be to offer soy milk or almond milk to guests at the breakfast buffet. I am not sure if it is available at an extra charge.
Location: Very convenient for myself. I’m 20-30 away from TST east, which is where I spend the majority of my time. Has an MTR station close by. Very big plus is that I can walk/jog to the promenade which is only a block or two away. Love this area with a great view of the water.
-Nothing to improve on here. All necessities are a short walk.
Cost: This hotel offers a great hotel rate for the amenities and overall experience provided. Sure it’s not especially close to tourist attractions or shopping but I would rather save my money and use it for souvenirs.
-Another 5 star rating here. Great service and amenities for the price.
Amenities: as I usually come in January I cannot say how the pool is from experience. However it looks very nice and offers a great view of HK. Free breakfast, free mini bar which is filled daily, access to a safe on your room, free coffee, tea and soda on the top floor, all a big plus.
-Rating this 4 stars: Area of improvement is the gym. It has a great view but not much space or equipment.
Again, would recommend this hotel to a friend and cannot speak highly enough...
Read moreThere are pros and cons for this so-called 4-stars hotel, since I gave one star I'll start with cons.
I'm on my 19th days of my 30days long term stay. Cons: I live in a room in which the flushing toilet would not stop overflowing. I contacted the administration three times within a week, and yet the hotel failed to remedy the situation. I was at work the first time and the hotel claimed they fixed it. The second time i was in the room, the worker dismantled a part from the toilet, washed it and assembled it. No wonder the situation persisted. The third time the worker came, opened the lit and flushed a few times, saying it works normally. So the nightmare persisted, I have to either flush a few times until it stopped from overflowing, or I manually close water supply knob to stop the water inflow. The situation is even worse, when I noticed that the staffs probably knew the overflowing issue from the very beginning, and yet they assigned customers into the room. When I booked the 30day stay package, the sales offered 4 semi buffet lunch coupons and 10 soup coupons to me along with monthly rental. On day 1, the sales claimed the voucher would be delivered to me once ready. On day 10, I asked again and they claim the coupons are being signer by the management team. On day 13, I asked again and they claim coupons are used up and they are now printing. Now on day 19, I still haven't received any of those coupons. I'm not sure if this is a scam, but it's ridiculous when one could not receive the coupons to be used in the hotel during his/her stay.
Pros: There is no carpet in room but wooden floor, making the room looks clean. Other hardwares works well except near none of the cupboards could be closed/opened smoothly. Housekeeping lady for my room is helpful and cleaned the room well.
The price was reasonable but I expected more, given my requirements above are of minimal. Yet the "Nina hospitality" has disappointed me multiple times. Good luck to anyone staying in the hotel, and wish you wouldn't stay in the...
