IW Hotel — Hotel in Hong Kong

You want to stay at IW, then expect mediocre management with untrained rude staff. Everything was wrong with this establishment, from their non-standard ridiculous check-in (3pm), check-out times (11am) to location. Don't make the mistake of "close to the sea", it is middle of no-where in an industrial zone surrounded by car mechanics and a long stroll to the train station which takes quite long time and changes to get where the action is. The staff has rather "I don't give a ...." attitude and will not inform you about anything. They charged an enormous amount of deposit which was twice the room rate and insisted that I need to pay that in cash! And when I was checking out very early in the morning to catch a flight, the so-called security guard at the reception told me it's not "business hours" so he can't refund my money back! This establishment failed to see this is a hospitality business with "no standard business hours". They're in Hong Kong and they basically ignore people might have early flights. Or probably its attempted robbery, so you have to choose to catch your flight or let your deposit go into these clowns hands. Of course, I had to wait for almost an hour for the receptionist to arrive and risked the flight. She couldn't even say sorry but kept saying that it is not business hours but admitted they didn't inform me about this. How can they even employ people like this? If you're going to charge people in cash, you have to prepare that money a day before for the people who will check-out and give it to the security guy who stays the night. Do I have to teach you how to do your job on a review??? Maid only makes the bed and keeps forgetting replacing the amenities like shampoo, water and so on. I had to buy my own. Mouse / Mice - size like a cat at back door car parking area!!!! curtain full of dust; Rubbish; dirty; bugs; smelly; unfriendly; water full of mold; dirty air condition; cockroach; cigratte roomates & mari_juana roommates (staff will ignore your complain).||Lock up in the old lift with "friendly" staff won't help at all; won't call 999 to fire department, will only ask you to wait for its own technician to save you when he returns from Lunch!!!! what the!!!!! no carrier signal in lift so you cannot save yourself as well!!! ||security camera cctv without connecting anything at lift waiting area!!! lift with splt and pee!!||1/f restaurant use mold water from its non-clean water tower to cook food, lunch, dinner, water full of mold, you won't regret.||If you are looking for all of these during your stay, this is the hotel you should book, you cannot imagine in your life!!||Photos tell the TRUTH!!!||If you ask for walk in price or continuous rental price, they won't give you 3rd party online booking price. If you book from 3rd party system, they will say they don't have the rooms you booked. The lady reception will say you need to pay more $$ to check in for another room!!!||Morning time will have staff sudden open your room door and come in!!!!!||A hotel with no chair or sofa at lobby! only with a ugly china portrait...

Location: Industrial area. 10mins walking to the nearest MTR station. Acceptable||||- Terrible check-in experience. it was 3pm check-in time as stated, which is a very late check-in comparing to other similar types of hotels. We arrived at 11am to process the check-in, got it done, and was told to come back at 3pm to get the key. We were fine with that.||We came back at 3pm, they said no room was available and we needed to wait. I asked how long, they didn't respond, kept their heads down. While we were waiting, the staff kept releasing keys to other guests. We waited for 30mins, I asked what exactly were we waiting for, while they kept releasing rooms. They said "it's not like that, it's not like that..."||We booked the room, not walk-in guests, they treated us like we were begging for room.||||- No seats in lobby area. My wife and I needed to hold a 1-year kid by hands for at least 30mins. ||||- The room was fine, spacious enough for its price. The janitor was kind and helpful.||||- Sufficient food choices around.
