Crowne Plaza Macau by IHG — Hotel in Nossa Senhora de Fátima

It was my third stay and it had been all great and fantastic. But this time I felt very disrespected and disappointed from the Front Desk.

As usual practice I contacted the Reservation team via email for my request to prepare the foam pillow for my stay. The staff was efficient and promptly replied me as always!

During the check-in, I voiced out about the credit card authorization was still been held from my previous stay, but the Front Desk agent Chris did not listened well on my issue and casually told me to pay by cash and the only option was to call my own bank.

It was very difficult for me to listen and speak in Mandarin, even I voiced out to Chris, he acknowledged but insisted to continue in Mandarin. At that time there was a female staff next to him that can speak the same language with me. Unfortunately she chose to play on the safe side.

Chris asked me if I have any request about the pillow set up. I told him that my request was confirmed with the reservation team. He then asked me what kind of pillow I want. I reconfirmed with him it should be the foam pillow. I did apologized to Chris that I really don’t know the word “foam pillow “ in Mandarin. He was impatient to listen further and created the most awkward moment for me. I was really surprised, he called the housekeeping and passed the phone in front of my face and told me to talk to his staff. Somehow I did answered the phone, the staff was loud and not able to communicate with. I understood that the staff may not recognized I was a actual guest and treated me like I was one of the duty staff, sadly the staff hanged up the phone on me.

There was no seniors or duty manager to assist. The one and only female staff finally talked to me when I got upset. She just asked me in the same language if I want to have the foam pillow, and she will inform the Housekeeping to set up immediately. Wonderful! Why can’t it happened earlier?

When I arrived my room, I found out the room had been pre set up with foam pillow plus welcome amenities, for sure the room was pre checked in all well prepared.

I immediately called down to the Front Desk and wanted to inform them about the room was all prepared and cancel the order for Housekeeping. It was Chris again who picked my call and once he heard my voice, without any informing the phone was passed to another person immediately. The same female staff listened to me and no more further assistance.

It was my initial stay at Crowne Plaza Macau, and I must express my utmost satisfaction with the experience. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. Jordan at the reception and Mrs. Li, the housekeeper on the 11th floor, for their exceptional service.

This hotel is conveniently located near the Macao airport, approximately a 15-minute taxi ride away. It is also situated within a 15 to 20-minute drive of the primary casinos and other major attractions. The surrounding area offers a variety of amenities, including restaurants, convenience stores, markets, and spas, all within walking distance.

Upon arrival, a hotel staff member will be stationed at the entrance to welcome and assist guests. They will promptly assist with luggage handling, ensuring a seamless check-in process while guests await their room's preparation.

It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Jordan, who facilitated our two-week stay at the hotel. Since my Cantonese and Mandarin are limited, I was relieved when Mr. Jordan conversed fluently in English. This eliminated the need for me to struggle with specific word choices or rely on Google Translate. Throughout my stay, a hotel employee consistently opened the door for us upon our departure and return. Additionally, Mr. Jordan would greet me with a wave, a friendly hello, and an inquiry about my well-being whenever he saw me. He even took note of my morning routine, as I headed to the gym.

The hotel did offer a concierge service, which I did not use.

I did not have the opportunity to use their pool. The gym is somewhat small for me as I am a fitness enthusiast, but it will suffice for most individuals.

I also believe that they will arrange for a taxi if necessary. We did not require this service as we had family members present.

Our reservations included daily breakfast with a variety of options, including an omelet station and a noodle soup station where the food is prepared in front of you. After two days, the omelet station attendant remembered my order and was able to prepare it without my having to specify it. I was very pleased with this level of service.

Whenever the housekeeper, Mrs. Li, on the 11th floor, will ensure that I have enough towels and that turndown service is provided.
