(At night) Disrespectful rude hotel.
I got a skin rash while staying there and also got a cold because it's so dry and dusty. Aside from that... I left my charger behind when I moved hotels to go to Disney, so I used the Meituan app. And I asked if they could hand it to the delivery man. They told me to send my passport information by email. But when I tried to ask the hotel's email, they abruptly hung up. I tried to find out email myself, but there wasn't one. I thought maybe English was too hard for them, or it would be easier if I spoke in Chinese. So I asked the Melia Hotel staff to use Chinese. They were like angels, kind enough to help me, and personally interpreted for me. So I successfully sent them my passport and accommodation information. But after that central hotel's staff sighed and said, "We're busy right now." Haha😂 You know, at first they told me to send a passport photo by email. But they didn't give me proper email address. So I tried to ask their email again. But when I asked their email address, they didn't give it to me. So I told them everything in person, they sighed and said, "Aren't you Chinese? Do you have a Chinese phone number?" Haha😂. What an amazing question. Even they know i'm korean. I was leaving my phone with a friend and they started talking nonsense. This is the first time I've ever been so ignored at a hotel. I'm so embarrassed lol😂 Oh well, the daytime staff was fine, but the night shift staff is just... really pitiful.
Honestly, I find it funny that I'm being treated like this for a small charger, and I feel bad for the Melia staff who were so kind to help me, so I just said no and left it at that humorous hotel. lol😂 Well, there's been talk for a while that the night shift staff is a mess, so be careful, everyone lol😂
I'm so outraged that I'm just writing this, so I'm sorry that it's...

I was staying at this hotel in shanghai and at first glance it seemed like a very posh hotel, very luxurious, considering the price i was expecting much but to my surprise the beauty of this place is only skin deep.
I went to my bathroom to shower and to my surprise the shower was just a bathtub with a shower head above and they put a old rubber matt in the tub. Me being 6.2ft i almost slipped a few times and iv gotten better showers in hotels costing 300 rmb.
I ordered minestrone soup and considering minestrone soup is literally one of the easiest soups to make i was thinking it would be edible but arrived on my plate was a watery, oily, bland tasting soup that was not very good.
I went to the Conceriage told them one of my friends forgot his bag with me and he'll come to pick it up in 10-15 mins his name is _ so please give it to him. He looks at me with the classic what you mean look and said why dont you give it to him yourself and when i insisted to just keep a look on the bag and he'll get it himself he said "its not my problem" very rudely. The purpose of the conceriage is literally to take care of guests and their needs and everywhere iv been to they collect parcels or manage your items if something needs to be picked up. Considering i am paying 800 rmb for this dump i thought this was the minimum.
They say they have a pool, only to later state its across the road in another affiliated hotel. It should be stated first and foremost that you will have to go to another location for swimming.
Personally i was fine tolerating this all somewhat but the 3rd and 1st point was a joke. This hotel is ripping you off with their fake-luxury look to only show you later the ugly reality of...
Read moreI stayed here because it was in walking distance (c.20 minutes) of the UK Visa Advisory Center at 213 Middle Sichuan Road. The nearest Metro station is People's Square on Green Line 2, which from Hongqiao Railway Station costs only 5 Yuan. I was pre-booked by an agency into an Executive Room costing GBP £ 78 for one night. However, unlike at the Bund Riverside Hotel a month earlier, staff were aggressively unhelpful about lending any assistance in downloading a local Shanghai health code onto my mobile phone. All that mattered to them was that it was a local government order. When I showed them my Yangzhou health code and complained about their attitude, the desk manager threatened to refuse me service at all. I had to loudly demand customer service before I finally got any assistance with their code. I was in physical distress (aged 62), sweating profusely and feeling faint, which caused them no concern whatever, such was their xenophobic contempt for a foreign guest.||||There was no mini-bar, but at check-out the next morning they asked whether I had drunk anything from the room. There is a bar downstairs, but it closes at 7:30 p.m. Thankfully there is a 7-11-type "C-Store" nearby and a good "Chez Amis" restaurant adjoining Nanjing Road.||||They also tried to avoid cancelling my RMB ¥ 500 deposit and I had to stand over them to demand they do so in front of me. I shall have to thoroughly check my credit card statement.||||Oh yes, and the WC toilet in this "Executive Room" 1021 does not flush.||||I submitted a feedback form detailing my complaints but have received no reply. The least I should get is a formal apolgy for their arrogant rudeness, and my booking agency should really give...
