Homeinn Plus Shanghai People's Square Jinling E Rd Branch — Hotel in Shanghai

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Homeinn Plus Hotel, and my experience was quite enjoyable. The hotel's location is excellent, offering easy access to many key attractions.One of the biggest highlights is its proximity to the Shanghai Metro Dashijie Station (大世界) on Line 14, which is less than a five-minute walk from the hotel. This makes getting around the city effortless. Yuyuan Garden (豫园) is just one stop away, providing a glimpse into Shanghai’s historical charm. In only two stops, you can reach Lujiazui (陆家嘴), home to the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower. If you’re looking to explore Jing’an Temple (静安寺), simply take the metro, and you’ll be there in no time.Additionally, the famous Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and the Bund are also close to the hotel, making it easy to visit Shanghai's most vibrant shopping and scenic spots. Whether you're in the mood for a leisurely stroll along the historic waterfront or want to explore bustling commercial streets, everything is within reach.The room was clean, though the amenities were fairly basic. One thing to keep in mind is that construction was ongoing next to the hotel during our stay. Fortunately, the hotel staff mentioned this upon check-in and kindly offered earplugs upon request, which is especially helpful for light sleepers.The mattress was firm yet comfortable, providing a restful sleep. The air conditioning was superb, keeping the room refreshingly cool. However, the flooring in our room was quite dated and made a squeaky sound when walked on, suggesting that some upkeep is needed. Similarly, the facade of the hotel could use some refreshing as well.Despite these minor aspects, I would highly recommend this hotel, as it is very convenient for exploring Shanghai’s attractions. To top it off, there are some excellent nearby restaurants, including a spot offering delicious shengjian bao (生煎包)—definitely...

Room still had dust and hairs over the floor and bathroom upon arrival. Cleaning was better on some days than others, floor was only mopped one time during a 7 night stay but not even once in the bathroom. The bed, shower and room were pretty nice, the view was nonexistent but got some nice air and light through the window. Aircon worked fine. No fridge sadly.Absolutely horrible soundproofing, woke up so many times because of loud noise from other guests or the staff (their walkie talkie was right outside my door one whole morning and I kept hearing static yelling through it, I was so annoyed). I’m usually not awoken very quickly, but I really did not sleep well because of this. Location was good, not right in the center but pretty calm and a good convenience store next door. Some nice restaurants nearby (see pic). Really close to metro station.I only talked to the reception 3 times. 1&2 were fine: 1. Check in 2. check out, but 3. I had a simple question. I used my translator app to ask the man where I can find the laundry room. He sighed at me as if it was a super hard task to point me to the room (he wasn’t even busy, only folding napkins or something). He was going to make his way over but then another member of staff walked past and he appointed him to show me instead. It was like 10 steps away. Was it really that hard and difficult??? Why so rude?!! Anyway, simply do not recommend because of the bad service, not that good cleanliness but mainly the exhausting noise waking me up many times. Consider these points...

To be frank, so so only.Location is really good. Many famous restaurant is around walking distance.Staff just abit not helpful, especially the Male. I called them few times they also refuse to help, pushing me to other ppl. Then the female staff is better, willing to help arrange.Because foreigner especially without local number hard to arrange some stuff, the Male staff always say this we cannot help that you call other parties, and even raised voice if we asked a few more times. Whereby the female will still suggest and give advice.So my experience is, hotel and location is good. Besides the Male staff hospitality. Others is ok.And another strange things, the room is full of smoking smell. My wife is pregnant, so we actually had an unpleasant 6 days trip. They told us no air cond during cold weather. Need to open windows. If we open windows. Smoking scent all blowing in. So the hotel ventilation or air cond facilities, need to improve abit. Central air ventilation got some smoke scent, open windows even worse. And...
