This hotel is a joke. Booked through Amex FHR no upgrade and got a leaky room at first… freaking water drooping from the bedroom ceiling nonstop. The technician immediately knew what was going on and located a tube from a hidden corner where two bucket full of water got poured out - seems like it’s a recurring issue and yet it’s ok to let customers take the chances . Was sent to another room on a lower floor, with a moldy smell and construction noise from the next room. We wanted to give it another chance hoping the air conditioning would clear out the air and the construction would not last much longer. We came back around midnight but the smell was still very strong, and we were too tired to pack and switch room again, so we opted for an air purifier as a solution. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, we fell asleep but woke up at 6am by the lingering smell and suffocating feeling of toxic air. Me and my partner both couldn’t stand it anymore and asked for a room switch again, and amusingly got sent to another room on a different floor that was slightly less smelly but also having a construction right next door. Spa was equally horrible, not what one would expect from a high end hotel … I’m not sure the therapist was even legit given how strange the whole session went - making conversation that lacked boundary and scratching my hairline for a couple minutes as some kind of special technique? My back hurt afterwards when I specifically asked not to apply pressure on the back. When the session ended, I was told I would be served hot tea while I was given a cold one. One of the receptionists also asked if I had paid enough deposit to cover the fee and low-key pushingly suggesting me to leave while I was still having my tea… Too many details that made this place looked like an illegitimate workshop. Upon check out, we talked to the manager about the chain of unpleasant events and he offered us future upgrade, as if we would ever come back lol - why would anyone want to relive this nightmare.

Overall it’s located in a very convenient and central area. Hotel bellman is very helpful and professional. However front desk team are friendly but not too professional. I don’t know how to describe it, they just don’t look that professional to me. The way they speak, the way they dress, the demeanour and so on, really don’t meet my expectation of Shangri-La. When they check us in, a group of them come, I don’t know why we need 3 team members to do this job, and they kind of gossip and check you from head to toe. Anyway, even the the front desk counter doesn’t look like a five-star hotel one, a Holiday Inn front desk counter looks better. Just my honest opinion. Room is great, nice view of city, bathroom is very spacious. Bed is very comfortable to sleep. We enjoy everything here except the check in process.

I share very fond memories of this hotel as we stay here regularly. The last time I came here was right before Covid. More than 4 years have passed since then it was a special moment to visit my family in Shanghai and staying at the Shangri La again: It felt like coming home. The breakfast is still at a high level, though many dishes that were available in the past in the club lounge (salmon steak) are now gone. This is a bit unfortunate. The afternoon tea and canapés in the evening are still very enjoyable. The staff, particularly on the 55 floor are extremely welcoming and helpful. The gym is one of the best I have ever used. Also the SPA and pool facilities were top notch and clean. I am looking forward to my next visit to Shanghai already.

After almost a year, I chose to come to "Jingxiang" again during the Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon. Let me share some of my feelings.First of all, I think Shizuka’s location selection is excellent. For transportation and daily convenience, Shizuka is definitely the best choice. The unique geographical location and high-rise hotel give you the opportunity to see the east-west Yan'an Road Elevated Road, the Plaza 66 area on the north side, and Changle Road and Huaihai Road on the south side. With Jing'an Temple as the center, you can overlook all directions. This feeling can only be experienced once you come here.Second, Shizuka is a safe, error-free, high-quality hotel that is always online. Even though it's about ten years old, it's been very well maintained. Just to talk about one detail, it is enough to explain how clean and tidy the carpets are in the corridors, rooms, and the 55th-floor luxury club. But we also hope that the hotel can upgrade some entertainment measures, such as: TV screen projection; Bluetooth speakers; bedside multi-interface charging (type-A/C), etc.Third, I personally feel that the most worthwhile room type in Shangri-La is the Horizon Club. You can enjoy exclusive floor check-in, check-out, afternoon tea, breakfast, etc. I have stayed in a total of 5 room types in this Jingxiang hotel. My personal favorite is the Horizon Club Premier King Room, which has separate areas for the bedroom and living room.Fourth, service. First of all, special thanks to my colleagues at Horizon Club! Especially Ms. Coco Li, the manager of Horizon Club. Every time I see her, we greet and chat like old friends. When dining at the Horizon Club in the morning, I can often see Sister Co greeting hotel guests warmly, chatting with old friends, and meeting some VIP customers and foreign customers. She handles it well, with ease and ease. Having such a co-girl in Jingxiang Luxury Pavilion is the reason why we will continue to choose her in the future.Secondly, special thanks and praise to Lucy Liu from Horizon Club. When I checked in on the fourth day of the * New Year, Sister CO was resting. She warmly received me, chatted and said hello very cordially. What also surprised me was that during the morning meal on the fifth day of the * New Year, she actually remembered that I didn’t see Sister Co yesterday, and proactively said: Sister Co is here today, do you want to meet her? In the next few days, whenever we met, we could call out my name accurately. To be honest, this is the first time we have met, and Lucy is interested! This gives guests a great sense of belonging.Third, I would like to express my special thanks to Ms. Mo Hui, the house keeping staff on the 49th floor of my floor during my stay. This Shizuka hotel has a special feature, the room service staff are very kind. During my 4-day stay, Ms. Mo Hui always greeted me with a warm smile. Moreover, she cleaned cleanly, neatly, and carefully remembered my preferences. For example: three sanitary bags were placed steadily every day; once she drank six bottles of bottled water on the table, and the next day she replenished six bottles... The hotel housekeeping staff is actually very hard, and I will try my best to keep the guest rooms Clean, after all, you are checking in by yourself. I also hope that hotel leaders can reward house keeping staff with red envelopes! Finally, I would like to thank Ms. Coco and Sister Lucy of the Horizon Club for their hospitality. I would also like to thank Ms. Mo Hui, the housekeeper on the 49th floor, for her enthusiasm and meticulous cleaning.I wish the hotel business will be prosperous in 2024. See...
