Proud Way Hotel Shenzhen — Hotel in Shenzhen

Definitely needs an upgrade! (Nov 2019) We booked as a business hotel 2 rooms for 2 nights and were not impressed. The location was great and the area nice but otherwise was not a good experience unfortunately! Firstly, you cannot say the room comes with a balcony and then nail the doors shut so they dont even open a crack... Secondly and most importantly, the rooms need an upgrade asap. The images on the website are VERY misleading! The carpets in both rooms were stained and in places not sealed at the walls. The kitchen had no tap/faucet just a sink and the countertops were also badly stained. The wallpaper is peeling at every edge, also stained, looks like water damage as well? The bed side table is damaged and stained. The bathroom window had no latch so I couldnt close it fully, the drain was open next to the toilet, the seal of the sink was black with dirt/mould? The couch in one room had cigatarette holes and stains. The saving factor was that the bed was fine - a little hard but clean and spacious. Thirdly, The restaurant cannot be called western restaurant when it only serves Chinese food for breakfast! If we had known we wouldnt have added this option! Was fine as a restaurant just that breakfast only served hot noodles/veggies and white bread - no toaster. For an international hotel should usually offer other cuisines.

The hotel itself is very old. In the rooms all the utensils are very old. The wardrobe door creaked so much that it is fashionable to wake someone in the neighbors' room) besides dusty inside, stained all clothes! There is a lot of hair on the floor, even after secondary cleaning. There is no noise emission at all. The shower is as scary as my ex-wife 🤣 If you need an iron, you will not be moved to the room, but asked to go up to the 23rd floor, in the laundry room)) and there you will find an old iron with a very old and crooked ironing board. Please note that there is no refrigerator in the rooms. The reception in English is spoken by only one employee, who is not always there. There’s a construction site outside the window, they’re working with jackhammers, so you’ll be able to sleep past 7:00 in the morning. Breakfast was not bought, but when the elevator stops on the restaurant floor, it is better not to breathe))) In general, this hotel, with a stretch, pulls 2 stars. Absolutely not worth my money. I will never go back there, even if the hotel itself...

We got to the Peng Wei hotel while coming back from our trip to HongKong. The room was very good but was a bit smelly. We then realized that there was a sink in the entrance, but they just didn't install any tap making the sink totally useless. Other point; even if we had asked for a non-smoking room, there was a strong smell of cigarette to which we had to get used.
