I stay here regularly due to nearby work commitments. The hotel has a number of friendly and competent staff - particularly at the front desk. The property is well located for subway access (Huaxin, Exit C).
Sadly, out of the scores of hotels we stay at in China - including in some 'sensitive' cities - this hotel feels like a police station at times. All hotels in China are required to photograph guests, but manage to do it discreetly. For many months now, despite numerous complaints from myself and others, this hotel has five very large monitors on the reception desk promoting the local police services. Clearly, this is completely unnecessary if the aim is simply to take a guest's photo. Meanwhile, the security desk in the evenings is also more overt than any of the other hotels we stay at. In short, rather than having a welcoming check-in experience befitting a purportedly international standard hotel, the experience instead is an unwelcome and inappropriate reminder of China's solid credentials as a...
Read moreIt was my first stay here for a business meeting. The taxi took me to the door and was greeted with warm smiles. Check-in was the slowest I experienced at any hotel in a very long time. The room was booked yet was not ready at the informed time. The check-in operator failed to advise me of simple things like where the elevators were, breakfast time, gymnasium and pool floor and Wi-Fi details. I had to discover all myself. Wi-Fi would not work on my phone. Sign in details were not compatible so I use my own data. Not bad, 3,000 a night and no internet!!!!! Not good for a 5 star hotel in this day and age. Beyond that, the room was quiet and very comfortable, shower was over the bath so unsuitable if someone is unable to climb into the bath. Locality was perfect. Subway entrance C Haoxin station at the front of the hotel. Across the road was a big mall and electronics superstore. Time did not allow looking in there, next time. A great breakfast included. See...
Read moreThe hotel is located in the Huaqing area which is very central and near to electronics markets. It also has a Metro Station 50m from the front door. Strangely though, it's part of an entertainment venue (like a private club) which is very Chinese and as a Westerner, I felt uninvited. I was turned away from 2 restaurants and the bar that I finally had dinner at, was smokey and the food was awful. The bed was comfy and the room was adequate, nothing special, but comfortable and clean. WiFi is a nightmare, it keeps dropping your VPN and is highly irritating. Many of the bigger Western chains don't have this problem....
