Wyndham Grand Shenzhen — Hotel in Shenzhen

In short if you are looking for a Grand experience this is a must visit hotel. The rooms are huge (I had booked a room with kingsize bed on the 33rd floor). This is a must stay place for the first time visitors to Shenzhen. The concierge service is really excellent, they speak and understand English, they go out of their way to make your stay and travel around in the city pleasant and always have you at ease. The place is very close to GangXia metro station which is on line1 (150 mtrs from the gate). They also do currency exchange and accept Visa/Mastercard as well. The hotel has very well stocked bar near the reception, a 24 hours restaurant on 3rd or 4th floor. 31st floor has a club lounge which is paid to access, but on the same floor, the fitness center and the swimming pool are open to all guest.

I would like to specially mention the General Manager here Mr Hassan (he is pakistani), is really excellent and a great host. Was so happy to speak in hindi with him, he also speaks Arabic, Chinese and is learning Spanish. He is the goto person for anything you need. The Wyndham Grand Hotel has their own app, which you just scan the QR code and it opens up, you order room service or food or any help you need, its in English, so very easy to use. Being centrally located in Shenzhen is great advantage when you stay here. I was here for a business trip and commuting by taxi/walking/metro was no trouble at all in any direction 24/7. I stayed there for all 7 days and 6 nights, so speaking with experience, could do a 25min walk to the coco park and back even as late as 4am in morning, no trouble in this neighborhood, its very safe and cops help you on your way if you are lost (I had Google maps and Bidu maps so I have never lost). Learn a bit of Chinese greeting like hello and thank you and use a translator app when in doubt. Shenzhen city is a delightful place with so many colorful and wonderful people. Will surely visit...

Good service, good location, useless wifi, hallway smell of cigarette smoke.

There’s a no smoking rule. But the hallway to our room smelled and stay smelled of cigarette smoke. This removes 3 star.

The wifi is terrible. I end up using hotspot from my phone. I need reliable fast internet when I need to do work. This removes 2 star.

The toilet doesn’t have washer or bidet. A shame since it would improve hygiene at not too high of a cost.

The room is large, we got a corner room with separate desk for vanity and work, which is great. The power outlet is international and they provide an adaptor in the room.

They have separate hotel phone next to the bed and to the work desk, making it easy to call the hotel. A large trash can with uncomplicated lids really helps, you can just put waste there easy.

The bed is a full size king bed. Unlike many hotel that says king bed but then provide not really a king bed.

The front desk staff is helpful. The concierge does outstanding work with so many things to handle.

If it weren’t for the room and staff, this would have been a zero...

Location location location.. metro is just around the corner and one avenue is 3 mins walk from the hotel.. so many shops and eatery to find.. located in futian area with one of the best pricing around the area..

Room was huge, bed also huge can accomodate to 4 adults in one king bed they arrange.. walk in closet, automatic screen/curtain, bath tub, seperate toilet.. they even provide us with umbrella in the room.. i didn't use the facilities but the pool was on level 31..

The may speak little english but it's not their problem, we can use google translate easily around china..

Will stay again if we have the chance to come...
