Apartahotel Eslait — Hotel in Barranquilla

Price is extremely high. About 70 dollars per night per person during the Carnaval. Which could be ok if it were not because rooms are not adequately fit to isolate noise from outside. Every single night was a nightmare. I was very very very tired and still, it was really hard to fall asleep until 4am. If you are planing to pay an irrational amount for guaranteed noisy nights then stay here. If you want to have a proper sleep, never fall for this trap.

I was forced to stay here due to ill health. Originally I planned to stay just 2/3 nights but in the end stayed 10 nights as I had dengue fever. ||The hotel is in a reasonable if not bland location but relatively close to many things by taxi.||It proved to be clean and secure||During my stay the internet was terrible to|Use but to be fair they were upgrading it during my stay. I was forced to use the living area which is not air conditioned and there were many mosquitos. We arrived at 4am with no other options to this abandoned building. Winos sleeping in urine outside. Room was filthy, refrigerator was ancient and moldy, beds are lumpy 2" mattresses with disgusting, cigarette burned sheets. Locks on main door, bedroom and bath doors had all been kicked in and repeatedly repaired. Balcony unstable. I wish I had the presence of mind to shoot inside photos, but once I saw the 4" cockroaches, we were out of there! This hellhole should be removed from the likes of Expedia and hotels.com.
