Four Seasons Hotel Bogota — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

Let me make something perfectly clear before writing this review: if this hotel had not been a Four Seasons property, even if it came at this price point, I would have easily given it five stars out of five. But as a Four Seasons property, I expected perfection - and while the hotel came close, it certainly feel just slightly short of what I'd expect.

In particular, the rooms could have been better maintained. The vanity mirror, for instance, had a loose hinge, so that it wouldn't lock into position - this was no problem for me, but I imagine that if somebody wanted to apply make up or whatever, it would have been a problem for them. The physical door lock also was not working when I first checked into the room, but the front desk had that fixed within a few hours of my logging the concern.

Finally, I wish the concierge had been a little more responsive; my Avianca flight out of Quito was delayed by about two hours, and I was trying to quickly get information about a tour that I had scheduled the afternoon of my arrival. While the whole tour ultimately did go ahead without a hitch and get sorted, I would have appreciated a more responsive staff in that case.

As I said, however, overall this hotel would be worth five out of five stars under any conventional metric. But the Four Seasons brand really is something special; a Four Seasons location ought not just to be good lodging, but a destination in its own right. In this aspect, the Four Seasons Bogotá still has a little way to go, especially regarding the maintenance of their rooms. But I would still highly recommend anybody visiting Bogotá...

I rarely remark on a hotel on line or otherwise post because it is not in my nature to do so but I was so impressed with the stay I called corporate to let them know. We travel all over the place and this week stood out to us. We had a great experience and would recommend the hotel and staff without question. We will go back to Columbia and that is because the people were friendly, the food out of this world, the sites gorgeous, and the security was always present and we felt very safe. For some reason that was one of my concerns but it was not an issue once we were there. I expected 4s to be excellent and that is why we stayed here but there was also a welcome to Columbia feel to the srvice that was unexpected and most welcome. The rooms and service at 4s were wonderful. ( the on line photos are spot on by the way right down to the actual pillows on the sofa. No creative marketing and photography. What you see is what you get). We made many requests of the staff and received excellent service at every turn. They made reservations at the top restaurants per our requests and we were happy that the table was on spot- a window table for example, when a second tier table could have been what greeted us, and would have been disappointing. We do not speak Spanish ( but will hopefully improve soon) and knowing 4s was supporting us was a comfort. Thank you for making our stay very special. I've been saying for a long time "I want to try the Four Seasons Hotel". Thanks to being delayed in Bogota, I was given the opportunity to give it a shot over the New Year period.

First thing to say is the team at Bogota Four Seasons are absolutely incredible, every person on the team are positive, helpful and there to truly help!

For us travelling being a pet friendly venue is super important, Niña our 6 month old dachshund was provided with everything she needed and more... a guest bed, bowls and even a custom cooked meal for when she wasn't feeling like eating her normal food!

We were lucky and got an upgrade to a Suite, and it was a fantastic room, super comfortable, with everything you'd need to enjoy your stay. We really did feel at home.

The spa treatments were best-in-class, both of us left the massage tables feeling like we had melted in relaxation. We were somewhat too lazy to use the gym, but we did check it out and it had everything and more for your regular gym goer! (Next time! :D)

The food and cocktails are worth the visit if you're not staying in the hotel, everything can be adjusted to your taste and this is where the Four Seasons Bogota show's off even further with incredible service.

Conclusion: I left asking why I'd never stayed in a Four Seasons Hotel before, and where my next visit will be!
