I’ve been begging my wife to go to a rooftop bar in bogota for about 6 months. This weekend she finally said we could go. I tried to make reservations at vista corona but they didn’t have anything available. On Wednesday I made reservations for Saturday at 5pm. We just wanted a couple of drinks and to experience a rooftop bar in bogota. We wanted the best rooftop bar and researched reviews before hand. It was narrowed down to Astoria and vista corona. I ended up making reservations at Astoria.

When we arrived she sent us up.

We were seated facing the tree but were hoping to sit on the side near the window. The server took about 5 minutes to greet us. I’m not exaggerating. I ordered a rum and coke and I had to say it three times. Then my wife asked about something on the menu and he was again lost and confused. It was such an annoying experience I wanted to get up and leave right away.

We decided to stay just to take a timelapse of the sunset.

I had two drinks a rum and coke and a moscow mule. Both were good and I have no complaints about my drinks. Just the service was horrible which affected the entire experience.

I google “best rooftop bar in bogota” and it led me to Astoria. jajaja what a joke of a rooftop bar.

I imagine i can find something off of the list of best rooftops bars that is much better. But I’m thinking I’m done searching for a rooftop bar.

High expectations low results.

If you have a waiter that has experience your results might be better than mine but I waited six months for this experience and I hated it.

I liked the music and my drinks....

I went with my boyfriend and friends for lunch. We were a lot of people and food was good and service was fast. However the reason why I'm leaving 1 star is because I was sharing with my boyfriend the Astoria burger. We both don't eat pork because he is Muslim, and we asked the waitress if the burger had pork or bacon in it, she said no. While we were eating the burger we found out it had pork bacon in it. I told the waitress to take it away because it had pork and she only took it away without apologizing or offering us another burger without pork. By the time of the check they charged us the burger. I told the waitress to take it off because we asked for a burger with no pork because of religious reasons. She said she will see if they can take it off or not and left. She came back saying that they can't take it off the check because we ate almost half of it. I told her that it was a lack of respect for us and if we can talk to the manager.

She came back with a new check and the burger was not on it. Didn't even look at us just said to my other friend, here's the new check. So we paid and left. But they didn't apologize for it or even consider our beliefs and feelings. We could've make a whole drama in the restaurant about it and speak with the manager but we didn't want to kill the mood (even though this killed the vibe already).

They should have apologized since the beginning and bring us another burger without bacon to at least please...

took my wife for her birthday dinner last night. First time for both of us. The atmosphere and view are obviously stunning, but we were very put off by the loud music. It is more a bar atmosphere than fine dining. Hard to hear each other talk. The staff were OK, but we started with a girl server which morphed into a male server. None seemed very trained on how to present the menu or to like people. And whats with the paper napkins at this level of dining/bar?

We started with the mushroom cheese appetizer. The mushroom cheese mix was good but could have used more spice. It came with 3 small pieces of their standard "toast" which was not enough for 2 people and the bread not up to Colombian standards. Wife had the shrimp linguini which she found very tasty. Shrimp done just right. I had the Lomo with redwine sauce which was done to order and very tender for Colombian steak. The house salad was good but the accompanying potatoes were undercooked and lacked flavor.

Overall, the atmosphere apart from the loud music is stellar but the service levels and friendliness we found underwhelming. Is anybody happy to work there or like people? We didn't meet them.

Good experience but there are much better values in the neighborhood for fine dining. This was more like a high...
