I first arrived at Hostal C.Q. Chapinero in late March of 2021. Upon arrival there were many Venezuelan refugees volunteering there 8n exchange for room. But apparently that was only temporary because within the next two days they were all told to find different accomodations. Im not sure and do really care why they were TD that but I am sure the owners had their reasons. Anyway, the rooms and beds were what you would expect at a Hostal for $5 USD a night. They were clean and comfortable with lean sheets and privacy curtains with each bunk. The check-in process with easy, informal and quick. The staff was cordial and polite but a little distance until they got to know you. The kitchen was clean even if a little outdated. There was a refrigerator, microwave, gas stove, a sink and all the utensils needed to cook meals. The common room was big even though there was a ping-pong table in the middle of it. the TV had cable with premium channels and was comfortable. Now, the Wi-Fi was sporadic because they didn't have a plan with much download data and several guests were using the Wi-Fi to make video calls and do work on the internet from the Hostal. The bathrooms were clean but the hot water did not last long. So it was get in and get out or take a cold shower (LOL). The locale is great!!! It's in the middle of the Chapinero district of Bogota with many shops, stores and food options within 5 to 10 minute walking distance. Overall the place was not bad for a local Hostel. There are many worse and better in this area. But for the money this was a decent and safe...

The owner's father who was drunk and working there was exceptionally rude, and he threatens to call the police when you ask for a modification of your reservation.
As many others have noted, the good reviews appear to be fictitious. For most of the positive reviewers, this hostel is the only thing they've reviewed. And most of those reviews are written in...
