Chicheria Demente isn’t getting a completely 5 star review from me, but it’s because I am extremely difficult when it comes to my steak. The reason we chose this restaurant was the dry aged beef in the menu. 30-40 days). In their Defence, they mentioned this was only a beginning for them. The cut of meat was beautiful, but it is not the amazing beef as we are used to in America. I have consumed dry aged beef in many cuts from 30-365 days aged. I have also aged myself. Unfortunately , the beef was not to my expectations though it was expertly prepared. Every other food and drink we had from the menu, however, was great. The service was excellent. The staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and professional. The Cauliflower steak, the burger, prawns, mojitos and more were great. The atmosphere was excellent. I recommend this restaurant, but not for the beef until they get a bit more experience. Once they are able to source the best beef, it have no doubt their dry aged steak will be excellent. Please, continue to develop this....
Read moreThis restaurant is a gem in hospitality, food and ambiance. And it’s not located in your traditional upscale neighborhoods. 12 famished patrons had lunch today and we all got the chance to taste a little of bit of genius concoctions. Refajo (colombiana soda and beer) with aguardiente, pork with watermelon, baked cheese with spices, delicious grilled and brazed chicken, tender and perfect tri tip meat, corn with capers, different types of green salads with shaved cheese and another with tomatoes, at least 5 types of potatoes, and the desserts to die for. We enjoyed the open space environment with high ceilings and meaningful decor. The owner came by and said hello and briefly told us about the inception of this great food establishment. Foodies of the world get ready to...
Read moreThis place has definitely let me down, me and my husband decided to reserve a table here to have a farewell dinner, and at the end we were embarrassed with our family. The menu is absolutely unclear, so keep in mind if you order a Plantain pure it will be served cold (not specified on menu), a “ginger beer” is not a ginger beer but a tonic water somehow, and to top it up if you dare to order “cajun PRAWNS” you will receive 6 SHRIMPS!!! Priced at approximately 60.000 pesos.
Take into account all these dishes are named “for one or to share” i would love the manager of this place to please tell me how am I supposed to share 6 shrimps.
Anyway, dont believe the trends, these places are clearly little projects of rich people trying to gentrify this awesome...
