My Spanish was better then the English of the staff, some were friendly. To start with, my room was just being finished by housekeeping but left no towels. I had to call to the desk at 6:30, 4 hours after arriving to get towels. Their web site photos look amazing until you get there. Yes, my room was big with a king size bed but had only one of those uncomfortable hotel stacking chairs that they use for conventions and a small desk, no comfortable chair to sit on. No luggage rack so I had to put my luggage on the small desk as I was not going to empty it for a two night stay.||||No bathroom vanity, only a small sink and no shelf for your toiletries. They had to place the hotel toiletries on the toilet and they slide off when you lift up the toilet seat. The water pressure in the shower was almost zero. There was only one electrical plug available in the whole room and I could not plug in both iPhones and iPad at the same time unless I unplugged the night light.||||The tv remote was Brockes and did not work and I had to go down three times and it still did not work. They moved me to the room next door and it was so small and narrow that I could stand in the middle, stretch my arms and touch both walls. No night lights on the night table. The in room fridge sat on the floor, I could not use it as I would have to sit on the floor in order to do so. They had some glass blocks on part of a wall by the bed and I found out that they separated the room with the next door bathroom, so when someone next door used their bathroom and turned on the light, YOR room lit up without you turning any lights on and you could hear the person next door fart and flush the toilet.||||Breakfast was not bad but the restaurant is actually not operational at night as I wanted to eat the first night and was told it would be open at 6. I went up at 6:45 and it was empty and one lady/cook/waitress was almost asleep. I asked for menu and she did not have one. I asked what I could have and she opened up an upright freezer and explained that she had carne, pollo Ste. So I left and went to Jennos Pizza two blocks away, good pizza by the way.||||There is no sauna/jacuzzi as they stare as I asked to use it and they said a lot of things that I could not understand.||||I will never stay there again. I had booked it through Hotels.com and it had a 3 star rating and is not even worth their 'secret price' of 50% off. I would give it a minus rating as it is also right under the takeoff flight path and very very noisy when they do. The hotel itself is quite noisy as it is. The nicest place in the hotel is the lobby and the shuttle bus is excellent and at...
Read moreNeeded a couple of inexpensive rooms to overnight in after arriving to Bogota. Had to catch an early morning flight to Cartagena.||||There are several brand name properties near the Bogota international airport. But you'll basically pay twice as much as you would at this small, unique property which is a quick 15 minute taxi ride away.||||The hotel is located in a residential suburb on a quiet street (except for airplanes taking off from the nearby airport). I had the hotel name, address and telephone number printed on an index card which I handed to the taxi driver at the airport so he could punch it into his GPS.||||My brother-in-law and I each got a room. Rooms are small, but functional and very clean. There is a small desk & chair, a queen size bed with very nice linens and pillows, cable TV, and plenty of closet space. Bathroom is small with no shelf space per se. Shower had decent water pressure and consistent hot water. No central heat or A/C but not really needed.||||A simple breakfast was included in our rate - and the hotel rates are very competitive - served on the top floor overlooking the neighborhood. Coffee, milk, juice, fruit served along with your choice of eggs with toast. ||||There is a small grocery store a couple of blocks away (exit hotel front door, walk along street past the small park then turn right to the store). It was open early Sunday morning and was convenient to pick up some bottled water along with toothpaste that I manged to forget to pack.||||Hotel staff, especially the kitchen ladies, were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel does have a van service to the airport (small fee) but it was not operating on Sunday. But the hotel called a radio taxi for us. By the way if you do order a taxi by phone keep in mind that the cab driver will ask for the "clave" (key) to verify you are the passenger. We didn't know what this was until the receptionist came running out to tell the driver our "clave" which is always the last two digits of the telephone number that originated the call to the taxi company.||||Definitely a good choice property for a short stay, either overnight or a day stay before or between flights. Gives one a chance to see a residential neighborhood instead of the typical chain hotels...
