Firstly it has no sign so its difficult to find, in addition its not a simple process to even get inside or check in. In fact its one of the most complicated ive ever experienced and i have stayed in hundreds of places around the world and colombia. You need not one but 2 passwords just to get in. Afterwards there was nobody to really check me in and other guests had to help me. It was necessary to communicate through WhatsApp. The worst part is the bathrooms. To shower you need to press a button on the far outside of the shower door to turn on the water and the light, it only lasts for about 1-2 minutes so if you need more you need to open the door soapy and naked and press this button again every 1-2 minutes. It was ridiculous and hotrible. In addition there is a motion light in the toilet so if youre sitting down or shaing, the light will just turn off and you need to wave your hand again. The room is VERY small and the walls are so thin so if anyone is outside of the front door or in the lobby area you can hear everything. People and sometimes the building itself plays music and so sleeping is difficult, you can hear all the cars pass by outside. There is nowhere good to do work and finally there is almost nothing nearby sonif you want to buy water or groceries or food you need to deliver or buy skmewhere else unless you have a price smart membership. It was overall one of the worst hostel experiences i ever had and the cheap price is certainly not worth the hassle. Bababuy hostel is nearby and is the same price with 100X...
Read more【English】 When searching for “Kuyay Yachi Hostel” on Google Maps, it directs you to a completely different location. Thanks to this, I had a hard time finding the place. This should be corrected immediately. I had sent messages in advance several days before arrival, but received no reply at all. I was very troubled because I had no idea where the hostel was or how to enter it. Proper instructions should be given in advance—this was extremely unkind.
I stayed for several days in a single room with a private bathroom, but the actual room was very different from the photos—this is deceptive. The room was extremely small, like a solitary confinement cell. The shower water was cold, making it impossible to take a proper shower, and the water pressure was very low. The Wi-Fi speed was good. While other rooms are located on the second floor, the single room is on the ground floor near the stairs. Because of this, it’s quite noisy from the sound of doors opening and closing and people going up and down the stairs. Additionally, a washing machine and dryer are placed right in front of the room, and staff start using them early in the morning, making it extremely noisy and difficult to sleep.
The laundry service fee was quite reasonable compared to other hostels—7,000 COP per 1 kg (2.2 lbs). However, when I checked my returned laundry the next day, some items were missing. When I asked the staff, they only gave a quick and superficial search and immediately said, “There’s nothing.” When I insisted, saying “That can’t be right, please take responsibility and look properly,” they reluctantly started searching again with an annoyed attitude. In the end, the missing items were found, but once you accept responsibility for a guest’s belongings, you must follow through. This was a very disappointing experience.
Read moreI don't usually leave ratings but I do not understand why this hostel is so well rated on Google Maps... I've travelled for a bit more than 5 months, through 5 countries in Africa and the Americas, and (as one may imagine) I stayed in numerous hostels, hotels and guest houses. And I can assure you this is WITHOUT ANY DOUBT THE WORST place I've stayed in. Rooms are SO tiny, unwelcoming and uncomfortable. Even the main room looks like a waiting room at a dentist or something... No one even looked at me or talked to me. The neighbourhood feels a bit isolated and dark. Fortunately, I only booked the hostel to make sure I could take a shower before my 1:30am flight in El Dorado, so I didn't sleep in there...
