HOTEL AMERICAN TRAVEL AW — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

booked this hotel for a one night stopover in Bogota; big, big mistake.... the service is inadequate, people dont speak a word of english, and with any little question eyes start rolling and someone from another places is called to translate.||||a huge appartment complex is currently built right across the street. so at 7:30AM they started jackhammering concrete with two excavator mounted huge jackhammers; the type that will resonate you out of your bed within 5 seconds... obviously this was known to the staff that this would be happening early in the morning, but no warning was given, nor was there any attempt to book us in a room in the back of the hotel; no the room right overseeing the contruction site should be it.||when asked at reception why they didnt warn us at check in or if there could be some kind of refund; eyes started rolling again, and we instead we should pay for the two bottles of water we drank the night before straight away......||||do not stay...

Stayed in the hotel on the 13th of February. It appeared to be the worst (yet one of the most expensive) accommodation of my stay in Colombia. Atmosphere was horrible, hair in the bathroom and above all: no rest. At 7 am loud construction noise from the opposite building, where construction works had apparantly already been taking place for a long time. My hote room was facing the construction place and it became impossible to be in the room because of all the noise, let alone sleeping. Hotel staff didn't warn, weren't able/willing to come to any solutions or renumeration, while they knew in advance what was going. This hotel still has to learn a lot when it comes to hospitality and service. Would rather sleep under a bridge than...

¡ESTAFA, MANIPULACIÓN Y MAL SERVICIO! Eviten reservar en este lugar.

Reservé el 29 de abril 2025 en el AW Hotel American Travel por su ubicación, precio y lo que prometían en Booking. Al llegar, me dijeron que mi reserva no tenía disponibilidad y que me iban a reubicar sin explicación ni opción alguna.

Lo grave es que cancelaron mi reserva en Booking después de que me alojaron en otro hotel, una clara maniobra para evitar calificaciones negativas y ocultar prácticas fraudulentas. Aun así, cobraron la estadía completa, sin haber cumplido con ninguno de los servicios contratados.

Lo que encontré en el hotel donde me reubicaron fue vergonzoso: • Habitación pequeña, sin la cama King de 1.80 m prometida, sino dos camas separadas por un muro. • Sin minibar, TV dañado, baño en pésimo estado y sin ventilación. • Toallas viejas, sábanas sucias que olían a sudor, papel higiénico en mal estado. • Jamás me entregaron el desayuno incluido y nadie se hizo responsable. • Perdí más de una hora entre traslados y esperas, sin compensación ni disculpa real.

Además, nunca me entregaron la factura electrónica, incumpliendo lo exigido por la DIAN en Colombia para establecimientos formales. Esto refuerza la sensación de informalidad y evasión deliberada.

Luego de revisar comentarios de otros usuarios, comprobé que esta práctica es recurrente: usan este hotel como anzuelo para después enviar a la gente a hoteles inferiores y con menos costos, estafando tanto al huésped como a las plataformas que usan para captar reservas.

No recomiendo este lugar bajo ninguna circunstancia. Es una falta de respeto, una violación a los derechos del consumidor, y un ejemplo claro de cómo se abusa de plataformas como Booking para engañar a los viajeros.

Evítelo. Adviértalo. Denúncielo.
