I’ve visited Hornitos Quinta Paredes for the first time on the 13th of March.

It is a bakery chain that is also a cafe, restaurant. On the ground floor they sell nice bread, tasty pastries. On the first floor, you can sit down for a coffee and pastry, for breakfast, lunch and diner. They have a menu for all meals of the day!

What’s great, is that Hornitos is open 24h. You can visit the bakery/ cafe at any time of the day or night if you feel hungry.

It’s convenient for early risers, night owls like me, people that want a snack after late partying, night shift workers.

It is located in a strategic location, between La Avenida Esperanza and Carrera 44

I had the fried over easy egg with rice and chorizo pieces. It was really good. I was also satisfied with the portion. I wasn’t , hungry after finishing my meal.

To drink, I had nice mocktail that included soda water, ice, litchi, passion fruit and mint. It was a delight drinking the mocktail.

I definitely recommend visiting Hornitos...

A simple and sober dining.

Service was efficient, but they had some troubles with the system at the moment of payment.

The food was just delicious: a great rendition of Colombian traditional cuisine, and at a great price. We had:

Caldo de Costilla: a thin potato soup with cow rib in it. The potatoes and the meat were soft, and the broth was rich in flavor.

Calentado paisa: rice mixed with beans, plantain, meat and fried egg. The flavors blended beautifully, with the sweetness of the plantain complimenting the meat.

Arepa de choclo: a sweet corn thin pancake filled with avocado, meat and pico de Gallo. They accompany it with sour cream, but I liked it better without it. The filling and the corn mass paired perfectly.

Mixed fruit juices, which were a...

We ordered breakfast at 6:10 am, 3 plates, easy, not overly complicated, they took 35 minutes to bring the food. When the food got to us 2 out of the 3 plates were completely cold, like they’ve been ready for at least 20 minutes, my dish had poached eggs, and they were more like hard boiled, sandy and dry. Also, they didn’t bring us any of the beverages we ordered, not even one! And they didn’t bother in asking if everything was ok. But when we went to pay they were gonna charge us for the beverages they never brought. They removed it after I told them. The bakery downstairs has good products, but the restaurant upstairs is absolutely not worth it, they wasted our...
