Tianjin — Restaurant in Bogota, Capital District

First of all, what impressed me was the atmosphere. The moment you get in the door, you could see barely anything yet except a low key waiting room with a sofa. Behind the waiting room, a door separates customer seating inside on the first floor. Each table are separated with stylish screens to provide customer with certain degree of privacy. But again, that's only just the basic of the atmosphere showing. They have second and third floor, where many more tables are either separated with decorated screens or in their own rooms for greater level of privacy. What surprises me was, each room have a bathroom. It's a high end setting that you can see in some high class restaurants in China. Besides the privacy, many murals depict a glimpse of Chinese culture for you to enjoy. Secondary, they provide quite good customer service and the food are ready promptly. As a traveler, I was hungry and the immediately provided hot green tea (free) gave soothing before I look at the think menu. The menu shows unexpected variety cuisines from China such as Cantonese, Tianjin, Szechuan, etc. They have quite some vegetarian options such as Berenberenjena al vapor, and many Chinese imports of soft drinks and liquors. Thirdly, the food I tried are with strong tastes, which is perfect to mix with white rice (Fried rice is not recommended to mix with the other dishes). The ingredients of the dishes are hard to find here but they got it. So if you want the real Chinese food, here is the right place to come for. Many other Chinese restaurants I have tried in my 50 days in Colombia, I would say the Arroz Chino is not able to be found in China :).

I went here on my way back from the Terminal Salitre. I was surprised to find a restaurant with a 4.9 star rating in bogota that is not high-class or 5 star. I ordered Chinese rice with shrimp, beef stripes, and vegetables. Unfortunately, i ordered the full plate 38.000COD (~9 USD) that could feed 3 of me. The server didn't mention it to me. The food was okay, like a 3/5 in my case, and i tried a lot of places in bogota. BTW, this restaurant has a menu of more than 80 dishes (if you are knowledgeable about gastronomy, then you know that the quality can't be kept up with this variety of dishes) The servers were not attentioned at all, and I was the only person in this restaurant, lol. I wasn’t going to leave a bad review because I thought they were having a bad day but it took 30 mins to receive a rice dish and 45 minutes for dumplings… I was told vapor takes longer, maybe you should tell that to customers because I don’t think anyone would wait that long.
