Hotel americano bogota — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

Tip Top Casa hotel is located in the Candelaria neighborhood, the historic center of Bogotá. It is a lovely restored property with a lot of charm. It has not one, but two rooftop terraces, definitely the best ones around - here you can relax while you drink a glass of wine, smoke a cigarette (no smoking inside), read a book or just admire the city by day or night. The staff is quite friendly and helpful, always willing to do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. Unrelated to the staff, but most of the guests one meets here are also very nice people, so it is always great to meet and interact with others who are discovering the city. The price is also very reasonable, and the location, like I said, is perfect. Close to everything in the center (the Gold Museum, the Botero Museum, Plaza Bolívar, and just two blocks from the nearest Transmilenio (bus rapid transit) station. This hostel is in a really excellent location. It's around 20 minutes walk from the Monserrate, and 10 minutes walk from the main plaza. The gold museum is around 5 minutes walk. We stayed in a private double room. It was on the ground floor right near reception. It had no windows, apart from ones that opened on to the main corridor so people could see in. So yep we kept those closed! The room was cold but spacious. The bed was comfy. Our room was tidied and fresh towels left every day which was nice. The bathroom was brand new with a spacious shower but wasn't very warm. There's 2 nice terraces offering great views of the city. Breakfast was included which was omelettes, croissants and a hot drink. The staff were always smiley and very helpful. However it was a bit of a pain having to wait to be let out by the staff. Esta muy cercano al centro y a opciones para comer, museos para visitar y de la Plaza Bolívar , todo esto está como a 10 minutos caminando como máximo. El Monserrate está como a 15-20 minutos también caminando, el barrio es seguro para ir a pie, se ven policías en las calles más transitadas y también muchos turistas por el sector. En la hostal el personal fue muy amable, te permiten pagar en cualquier momento, como recomendación creo que es mejor pagar en efectivo con el dinero exacto o con VISA u otro medio similar ya que los complique un poco por tener que darme cambio. Tienen un computador a disposición de los huéspedes y varios sectores comunes. Nosotros nos quedamos ahí estratégicamente ya que estábamos en una escala de vuelo de aprox 12 hrs o algo así, que nos obligaba a pasar la noche en Bogotá y para alcanzar a conocer lo más posible en ese tiempo escogimos TipTop por su ubicación y precio. Las habitaciones son bastante comodas, precisas para descansar, la señal de wifi era buena, no así la de tv que se veía con puntitos pero aún así esto es algo sin importancia. La cama es cómoda, buena iluminación y si eres de los que siempre tiene frío en los muebles hay como 3 frazadas por si quieres aumentar el abrigo. El único inconveniente fue en la mañana con el agua caliente, CREO que este hostal es media eco, green, y de ese estilo. La ducha arriba tenía unas conexiones, no sé bien del tema, pero no logramos que saliera caliente el agua, y recurrimos al personal del hostal para que nos ayudaran pero lo máximo que salia era tibia.. poco menos que fría y como Bogotá es frío sobretodo a las 6am esto no fue muy agradable, no sé si funcionará con colectores solares que al estar nublado no calentaban o que sistema usan, pero fue el único inconveniente que tuvimos. Te dejan jabones y toallas, la hostal es súper tranquila y agradable, hay alguien no importa a qué hora llegues.
