Hotel Oceania Bogota — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

Make no mistake about it, this hotel is not in a nice part of town... It's fine as long as you don't mind hearing "don't go out at night here" from every English-speaking taxi driver that drops you off, but believe me, they don't need to tell you that. ||The hotel itself is fine. The panoramic windows that sold it to me are a nice feature, and we could see the Cerro de Monserrate from our bed which was pretty cool. Looking in the other direction though, and you feel that maybe they'd have been better off keeping the windows small. Breakfast is fine if a little limited, eggs cooked to roder and some fruit/croissants. WiFi was down for one of the days/nights we stayed, which wouldn't usually bother us but it left our families worried without their daily updates (which they insist upon, given that this is apparently such a drug-fuelled, gun-ravaged city; we haven't found that to be the case). ||Overall we can't complain too much, considering the price, but when we come back to Bogota in a few weeks we'll be staying in the North of town (Zona Rosa) rather than the South (La...

MUY MALA ACTITUD DEL CONSERJE MONROY 1...el trato no es amigable es mas bien tajante y riguroso ...no encontras un amigo sino a un dictador (esto es asi y no hay reclamo) 2 ...despues que te registras y pasaste la tarjeta te salen con un reglamento ( con cosas logicas e ilogicas) que si no estas deacuerdo con lo QUE te dicen ,te jodes porqué ya pagaste 3...te hacen pagar un seguro aparte ...de no pagarlo ellos no se hacen responsable de absolutamente NADA 4...La pieza que nos toco se inunda el receptaculo de la ducha (no corre el agua ) un verdadero chiquero LE PEDIMOS que la sequen y dijeron que no tenian personal ...(al final la limpiaron y de paso nos limpiaron algunas pertenencias que despues detallo ) 5...si bien cada uno tiene que llevar su dispositivo para enchufar su aparato l(llamese celular .notebook. cámara de foto)la pieza no cuenta con tomacorrientes de ningun formato extra(con 4 pasajeros minimo 4 tomas ) los que tenia eran del tv y veladores ...tenia 2 pero en el baño que todos sabemos que los aparatos electronicos no son amigos de la humedad 5...nos hacen firmar un papel el cual dice que se cobrara una multa si se fuma dentro de todo el hotel ( a la cual apoyo a rajatablas porque me molesta el olor y el humo del cigarrillo ) PERO cuando mandan a una persona (mucama mucamo maestranza o quien fuera )para el chek oud este informa que se fumo en la pieza (uno de los 4 que fuimos es fumador pero no le permitimos fumar serca nuestro y menos en la habitacion )..cuando le informan a MONROY este nos quiere cobrar una multa a la cual exigimos el derecho a la defenza de ir con el u otra persona a revisar .a lo que se nego ...la palabra de ellos es la LEY ..en ese momento cambio el trato muy ostil y dictador de MONROY y tambien de mi compañero que exijia derecho a revisar ...a MONROY le quedo chico el traje de conserje y se le fue de las manos despues de protestas, reclamos ,gritos , insultos llamo a la policia ....en ese momento salio el gerente que tampoco quiso ir a revisar pero calmo el tema liberandonos del problema aduciendo que el se aria cargo de la multa (en una charla privada con el gerente le observe que seria una injusticia que paguemos esa multa o que la pague el ...sin mediar la veracidad del echo y la falta de actitud ante un problema de MONROY que no acudio a el por ese tema ) 6...de la habitacion faltaron cosa de valor como una camara digital (que no era para nada nueva pero tenia muchas fotos que ese es el real valor ) tambien un sobre con muchos billetes de Venezuela que parece una fortuna pero eran menos de 10 dolares.... AHORA a quien le reclamo si no les pague el seguro y firme un papel que los libera de responsabilidad 7 ....las habitaciones que dan a la calle son MUY MUY RUIDOSAS 8 ...una buena ...tiene una terraza con mirador en el piso 13. MUY LINDA 9....segun varios taxistas la ZONA ES MUY PELIGROSA DESPUES...

Even though the MS Oceania is conveniently located (20 minute casual walk to Plaza Bolivar), it's in a slightly less ideal area.||Minus points: Check-in took an eternity. There's one elevator and its slow and tedious.||There's road noise even all the way up to the 12th floor. Like a lot!||Theres no Ac, towels are stiff and hard (we were only given one), bath room is small. ||The breakfast spread is only just average, except for the omelettes. The cook was super friendly and made great omelettes !! Coffee was better than most hotels.||Plus points: The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are big and comfy. Pity its hard to sleep.||It's ok. Don't expect too much. It's just a 3 star. It's got lots of road noise. It does the job required.||Can't recommend or not recommend. It's up...
