This property is 5 stars for when you compare the value you get to the cost of the hotel room. I was given a room upgrade as I am Gold Expedia member. The room was on the second floor. I used stairs as it is easier than elevator. Room was spacious, clean, very good hot water, very good wifi, beds and pillows were comfy, safe, mini fridge, and window on street. Checking in and checking out can be faster. A kind happy helper took me to my room and he showed the room. The breakfast buffet happy helper was kind and attentive … she checked on me couple of times. The food is above average but not wow… though, remember the low cost of the rental room. I loved the breakfast. The hotel is in a very quiet and safe location in the north of Bogota … but most importantly it is 1-2 minutes walking from the famous Unicentro Mall where you can find almost everything you need: western union to exchange money, many restaurants, Exito for general grocery, Claro for SIM cards, and many other things. My suggestions for improvement are: complimentary bottle of water, kettle for tea or coffee, safe instructions in englush, and small paper with key information like wifi password and nearby unicentro. There is a very basic Gym at the top floor.

Terrible Experience – Avoid This Place at All Costs My stay at this hotel was truly disappointing and frustrating from start to finish. First, I had booked a room for two people, but upon arrival, they tried to stick me in a tiny single room. When I asked to switch to what I had actually paid for, they charged me an extra 30,000 pesos, which is unacceptable. Then, I asked them to wash our clothes — and they slammed me with an outrageous price, almost as much as one night at the hotel, without even informing me beforehand. No transparency at all. To make matters worse, an hour before check-out, they cut the water. I couldn’t even take a proper shower before heading to the airport, and now I’m late for my flight because of this. Unbelievable. The receptionist was rude and dismissive, treating us with clear disrespect, as if we were bothering them just by being there. This place has absolutely no professionalism, no courtesy, and no respect for their guests. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I will be attaching photos and videos to back everything up. One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had.

I stayed at the Egina Hotel for about 2 weeks. The location for my needs was perfect. Two blocks away from a great mall and close to all the places I needed to visit in a short time. The breakfast buffet and staff was outstanding. Fresh fruit and juices and nice display of breads, cheeses, jam and the hot dishes. The hotel does need a bit of updating. My room had a leak in the ceiling. No coffee machine and very small old refrigerator. One important thing to note is that there is construction going on outside next door so you wont be able to sleep past 6am. I wish they would have mentioned it before I reserved. Other than that based on value I would stay there again.

I have to change my first opinion, the first time I took this place in October was completely different to my las, I took on November for second time and everything was in a kindness environment till the check out, in the reception was this person Sandra, and she informed me the payment was not done, when I arrived in the hotel the first thing I asked was if they have charged the payment to the card and he said the only one thing I had to pay there was the taxes so o did it, they had 4 day to say they hadn’t charged the payment and never did it. But in the checkout this person insulted me in front of the other costumers and also she threatened me in front of everyone when I was offering her the option to give me a link to do the payment with another card because I hadn’t that physically. Btw How is it possible that they don't have a responsible person on Sunday? Sandra is vulgar, unprofessional, rude and really not suitable for a position, where you supposed to have the most efficient and respectful person, I was seriously disappointed. But in a good way want to say thank you to Daiana the person in charge of restaurant, she’s amazing and so professional and sweet, and Carlos the botones who was a kindness example, they are the real people who deserve be the...

I have seen quite a lot over the past decades, but this must be the worst hotel I have stayed at and this is primarily due to its management. But first: a simple hotel in very good location, but with thin walls and in an increasingly deteriorating state. Staff is generally very helpful and nice. Breakfast offering very basic!||Main problem: management wants to recover Covid losses by charging damages to guests without proof that they have been caused by them. In our case, the cover glass for the desk had a small piece missing at the edge and we were told that we had caused this and had to pay for it! Obviously, we did not check the room for such minor damages when checking in (at the end who treats a hotel room like a used car and checks for scratches in the whole room?). When my wife talked to the responsible manager by phone (who refused to talk to us in person), he mentioned directly that the hotel had to recover Covid losses as reason for why we were charged for this 'damage'. When my wife insisted that we were not responsible for the 'damage', he blackmailed us, saying that the staff would then have to cover the cost of a new glass. Certainly the most unpleasant experience I have ever had in any hotel...
