Hotel Regency Suites La Feria — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

It is a very nice place. Americans will consider it three stars. It is a very good value. I liked it better than the Intercontinental. You can open windows and have fresh air, and there is a kitchenette for your own food. There is a good 24-hour grocery store that even sells wine a block away. The shower is excellent. The neighborhood is good, but urban. Quiet at night, but mornings have expected urban sound. Security is good. No one gets past the front desk without registration. It is a good, safe, place for families. They have everything you need, but it is not all on display and you have to ask for things. Make sure the rooms meet your needs. The top floor requires one flight of stairs, so if that is an issue for you, tell them. Also, my balcony was covered over and became hot in the sun (which is rare in Bogota). If that is an issue for you, select a different room. My kitchenette did not have a dishwasher, so I washed by hand. Not sure about other rooms. No parking, which is typical for Bogota. The only place I found for 24-hr access parking was at the Hilton Hotel, ten minute walk away, perfectly fine. Maybe you can find closer if you ask around and know the language. On September 8, 2016 I visited this place. Before arriving I call their Reservation agent to make arrangement for early check in since my flight was arriving early. Their agent sent me told me it was OK that I don't have to pay for early check since it was few hours of the same day on the phone, plus their agent send me a confirm email as prove. Upon my arrival, first problem was the front desk agent couldn't find my reservation after 30 to 40 minutes make phone calls while my family was waiting. After they found the reservation I was told by the front desk agent to pay a early check check in fees after I explained to him and show him the email they still wanted me to pay. I didn't have much choice since it was too early and after the long wait. I pay the money. On my day of departure they try to charge me extra for using the security safe box which I didn't use. I was booked into the hotel after my husband and I were air ambulanced here from where we live. I felt very safe on my own, the room was perfect for me, huge bed, kitchenette, bathroom with a great waterfall shower, also a small sitting room, tv, good wifi and a small balcony. When my husband was released from hospital he was instructed that he couldn't leave Columbia for another week. No problem in checking in my husband and the reception staff helped us to the room with his oxygen machine|| The only complaint I would have is the in house restaurant has a very limited menu, ok if you want sandwiches etc in the room, but not in the restaurant. The two times we went, we were the only two there and they had to put the lights on and a space heater.
