A family with children...All six of us had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Santiago. 1- We arrived to Bogotá to have our original res. cancelled (a very bad and different rating for elsewhere). A nice taxi man called up the hotel, whisked us to Hotel Santiago and we were immediately shown a clean, bright room (2king beds) with a private bath, which we accepted. 2- It was like staying with family and friends. The staff are all so kind, hospitable and friendly and professional. The beds were comfortable, the showers are boiling hot at night but in the morning not quite so much. That is okay because the delicious and inclusive breakfast, cleanliness, service and hospitality made up for that. I just cannot get over how great each and every last one of the staff were to my family. They made it awesome. 3- The walk to the embassy is FAST and it's a nice neighborhood with 4 playgrounds along the way and a spot to get some exercise along the walk. 4- There are restaurants to walk to and sit down to eat, the Gran Estación mall is a nice walk with great stores. Once again, very pleasant neighborhood. Overall, I did not give all the full stars because I have been to 5-star and it simply just does not have 5-star amenities, and I am honest, but this is more than five stars in hospitality, service, kindness and friendliness. Very much recommend and will stay here again as needed....
