This is a beautiful and very well managed and maintained hotel. We had Room 203, a big double with a large enclosed balcony on the front of the hotel looking over the road. No noise problems as others have observed. A large bathroom and shower with lots of hot water and good towels. Good wi-fi and breakfast was fine. We paid about 930,000 COP (about $460 US) for four nights without breakfast. We felt the price was fair for the value of the room and hotel.||||The staff are very helpful and do make you feel a welcomed guest. We were here for four nights and found lots to see and to do. We enjoy walking around and the Festival of Lights offered three spectacular nights of fireworks, concerts including a fantastic 65 piece young persons' classical group and lots more.||||We had a day tour in a taxi for 180,000 COP (about $90 US) arranged through the hotel. A really lovely day with almost too much to see in one day.||||We came by taxi from Bogota arranged by our hotel for 700,000 COP (about $350 US) return journey with sightseeing on the way as we wanted to see Zipaquira and preferred the quiet old road through the countryside. Expensive, but we didn't want to take risks on the first few days of a three month tour. We stayed near the bus station and the buses looked very safe and secure. Had we not had all our gear and money with us, we would have taken the bus from Bogota. This would be easy if you left some stuff and most of your cash, etc in your Bogota hotel to collect when you returned there for a few days.||||I write all this because it is really hard to find any info about current prices in Colombia.||||There are many great restaurants here, but be warned that there will be very few open on other than Fri,Sat and Sun nights. It took us only 5-10 minutes to walk easily into town.||||Villa de Leyva felt totally safe and was a real relief after Bogota.||||Ecce Homo is a magnificent old Dominican church and complex. You can easily spend two hours there on your tour! Very special.||||Enjoy Villa de Leyva. The town is lovely and the people are...
Read moreI stayed here for 1 night recently with my mother and my 1.5 year old daughter. It was a very comfortable place for us, and the triple room worked out well (although it would really sleep 4). We especially enjoyed the patio, where we ate the picnic lunch we brought. The manager and her daughters were very sweet and especially attentive to our little girl.||||The room was clean and sufficient, and the place has a nice atmosphere. My only complaint is that the breakfast is pretty expensive--more than $10/person for a typical Colombian breakfast, and it is not included. ||||They were also kind enough to store a few things in the reception refrigerator for us. I was surprised to find that the owner had sold the Coke we had stored, though, and he only offered to go buy another one down the street or take $2 off our bill. It was no big deal, but a little more of a gesture would have been nice.||||At night all the guests brought their cars into the center courtyard and they locked the outside gate.||||It's a bit of a walk to the central plaza-a bit farther than I imagined. Since we had a toddler with us, we chose to drive there. Otherwise it's a good location--easy to leave town to explore the neighboring sites. I would...
Read moreI stayed there for 1 night with my husband, I didn't know what to expect since I did a last time booking in high seasson. The location is ok if you like to walk is like 5 blocks from the main square. ||The room and bathroom was small but very clean. The breakfast included was good, not fancy but for the price I paid in high seasson I would recommend it. ||It is a simple hotel so they don't have service all night long but I was never told about a curfew. The lady in the front desk who also helped with the breakfast was very very nice, she told us that we could arrive at any time and she literally wakes up in the middle of the night to open the door. ||The yard is very nice and well kept. The room was silent and we slept very good.||I would recommend it if you are on budget and you want to stay in a clean please and be...
