The desserts look great, but we made the mistake of going to dinner here. I've now spent the early morning (following day) searching Colombian food blogs in search of a reason behind what we perceive to be bad service. Maybe it's a custom or something that we don't understand... But, I've come up empty handed. So if you're reading this and can provide an answer it would be greatly appreciated as we've been in Colombia for a month and have only recently received this kind of service.
Drinks. It takes quite a while to receive you're drinks (a couple of waters and two beers). After you finish a beer no one offers you another. In every country between colombia and Mexico people have offered us another drink when we finish the first (I assume because they understand that it's good to sell things for the restaurant and because if a tip is coming every item sold increases the amount of the tip. In other colombian cities we've been offered more drinks... refills on water but maybe it's not customary in this part of the country?
The food. We ordered two plates of pasta. After 30-40 minutes the first arrived... my wife and son ate it as I waited for the second. At another 15-20 minutes we asked about the status of our second plate. We waited a bit longer while our son continued eating his pasta (my wife finished hers already) and nothing. We eventually asked for the check... received the check... saw the second pasta dish on the reciept.... asked for it to be removed... received the second check and paid. Then the second plate of pasta finally arrives as we're getting up to leave. We politely explain that we've already paid and are on our way out of the restaurant.
I understand that sometimes a restaurant gets busy, or maybe a place is short staffed, but the timing of this meal was surprising.
According to my wife the pasta didn't taste bad... but for the price it could maybe be a...
Read moreWe chose this place because it’s really pretty and looks really cool, unfortunately nice places are not made of furniture or good decoration... it’s about the service and the people who work there. They have a really bad attitude. We were in Villa de Leyva for a bike race, we just wanted to take a coffee after 80 miles, and the first thing they did was denied us a glass of water, only bottled. Then I asked about vegan stuff, before even knowing what was vegan she was saying No No No. no bread, no vegan desserts, no plant based milk :(
The coffee is good, but I insist, this place has the potential to have 5 stars if they change their attitude and...
Read moreI walked into this place and REALLY wanted to like it. My husband and I ordered the pasta and after I received my pasta my husband didn’t get his until almost 30 min later! When the waiter came to give my husband his pasta he told us there are only 2 chefs and they can only make 1 dish at a time (which is ridiculous)! So we asked for the check and the did take the pasta off our check for us (we only paid for 1). It looks like most people only come here for dessert and coffee which maybe we...
