40 Amigos is a new place on the edge of town, but Jardín is small, so it’s only a 10 minute walk to the main square.||Most maps have the location wrong - it’s actually just off Calle 16 on the way to trout farm and cascada.||Plus points |- the staff are friendly and helpful.|- the rooms are new and clean.|- quiet location.||Minus points:|- breakfast was a bit random, eg don’t order pancakes if you’re hungry. Don’t expect something to come unless you ask for it specifically, eg coffee.|- there’s nowhere to hang clothes in the room. Not even a hanger.|- there was a problem with the hot water. Or lack of it. Half my showers were cold. I think the lady in charge was a bit in denial to begin with, but she eventually recognised the problem. |- having tea and coffee available at reception is a good idea. But instant coffee? In Jardín?!|- the WiFi never really worked properly the whole time I was there.||Overall, it’s a nice place but a bit overpriced. Sure, everything is new, but it’s a bit expensive for what you actually get. Especially if your shower is cold! ||But they’re lovely people, so I hope...
Read moreThis hotel is a complete scam. The rooms looked nothing like the photos—run-down, dirty, and clearly misrepresented. We checked in, left briefly to get food, and realized just how far it was from the actual town square—completely isolated, nowhere near what they advertise. We returned, grabbed our bags, and left immediately.
When I raised our concerns, the staff offered nothing but lies and excuses. To make it worse, they’ve since posted false claims on Google saying we left “without reason.” That’s a deliberate lie—pure damage control to cover up the truth.
Just look at their reviews: their star rating has plummeted over the past year, and the only positive reviews left are from a couple of years ago. That says everything. I strongly encourage travelers to actually read the recent bad reviews and check the timeline—they reveal a clear pattern of deception and decline.
We’re disputing the charge through our credit card company. If you’re a foreigner, be especially careful—they’re counting on you not fighting back. Avoid this place...
Read moreVery expensive for the small room with bad sound isolation and no real windows. And the water was sometimes cold. The lady is quite rude, i was here with my parents and she let them wait half hour to serve them the breakfeast; she served before a large group and my parents were the first. Then she charged us 10 dólares more for my cat, i can understand that but the way she did it was so rude. She didn't tell me anything about charging the cat during the stay and she urged me to do it just when we were about to go... I don't recomand 40 amigos, unless you don t care about paying an expensive price for something that...
