Óleo Bistró Restaurante — Restaurant in Cabecera Municipal

My husband and I looked forward to having appetizers, dinners, and drinks here for his birthday. First, we went to a cafe to "kill time", since Oleo doesn't open for dinner until 7pm. Our dog always comes with us and this is never a problem in Colombia.

We arrived at Oleo hungry and in the mood for a fun and long evening. The atmosphere looked cozy and professional and we were ready to pick a table and relax, with our dog resting underneath, being quiet and well behaved as always.

But... Our dog was not allowed inside. Saying that this was a government restriction was a lame excuse. We've brought her to many restaurants and cafés (and even hotels) with us during our four months in Colombia.

Anyway, there are many other great restaurants in Jardin, all allowing dogs, so we went elsewhere and enjoyed a lovely evening of appetizers, drinks, and dinners - with our dog resting...

I dont want to be mean but my meal was disgusting.... I was gagging and had to leave.

I ordered a fish and it was so hard, SO salty and really really bad.Then I thought okay- the fish is bad. Let me get a dessert since I am still hungry. I got the oreo pie and it tasted okay but the texture was like plastic.

I paid 80 mil peso = $20, it is expensive for here but truly that is not the reason I am giving 2 stars. It all tasted so bad AND I was so hugnry and excited.

I am giving 2 stars because the vibe was good and staff was nice.

Also I was literally the only person eating here for the whole hour that I was there but granted it...

Bad service and attention from the waitstaff. The chef deserves 5 stars for the food, but the service was only 1 star. From the moment we arrived, it was horrible. I personally spoke to the manager and told her that I had been recommended to come here, but I waited 45 minutes for our drinks. There was no coffee or dessert available. Unfortunately, while the chef was spectacular with unique flavors and the food was on point, the service from the waitstaff was terrible, and they never asked if we wanted more food or drinks. We were left alone. They need to be...
