This place has a lot going for it but much to be desired. We arrived on the quiet weekend which is thankful since my first issue are the lack of sound barriers. There was no one in the room next to us but you could still hear people in the hallway and talking loudly in their rooms since the doors to the rooms are very thin and the same goes for the doors to the bathroom.
The rooms themselves are fine. There are a number of channels available on the TV surprisingly even the Japanese channel NHK but the bed is stiff and quite creaky. My biggest issue was that there was no space to store things outside three tiny shelfs and that the windows were not seal proof which was not the best both in terms of temperature and sealing the room from bugs entering.
Now in terms of the bathroom while I appreciate the shower and ease of accessing hot water I was again not a fan of the super thin and loud to close door. I seriously recommend you bring hand soup, shampoo, and even your own towel as all you are provided with is a basic bar of soup as well as baby wipes since you are discouraged from flushing toilet paper. In general I would honestly recommend not sharing a room if possible due to the cramped nature of the rooms and loud bathroom door.
Outside of this the hotel by car is super close and I appreciate how easy it is to access the nearby waterfall by foot but its definitely by no means at the heart the town and the road leading to it is unpaved. The highlight of the hotel for me was really the restaurant. We had a breakfast and dinner package and found it was really worth our money with the food being not too much nor too little in filling us up while still being delicious. Furthermore the hotel's staff was extremely courteous and professional in assisting us with our needs and answering...
Read moreThe Paradise Inn which is set on the foothills of a small mountain teeming with birds, banana plants and coffee fields on the outskirts of Jardin (yet only a 10-15 minute walk to the central plaza) is reminiscent of an old-school country "finca". The main building is the traditional finca house with sweeping balconies, which provide a beautiful view of the town and its surroundings. The gardens on the property give the Inn a pleasant look. There is a brook that runs between the main Finca house and the delightful chapel that provides soothing background noise if you stay in rooms 1 through 3. We selected the package that includes breakfast and dinner and were not disappointed as the onsite restaurant, which is located next to the chapel, provided delicious traditional Colombian food. In addition, the owner offered us a sample of the wine that was so delicious that we bought two bottles. The rooms are as shown in the pictures and discussed in other reviews. There is also a row of newer larger rooms near the parking area that we did not stay in and therefore cannot comment on. The staff went out of their way to ensure that our stay was a 5-star experience. They even searched for, found, and next-day shipped an item to us in Medellín that we had left behind, which really went above and...
Read moreAfter a long travel from Medellin, we finally came to this almost hidden spot in Jardin. It took us a few hours to get there, but as soon we arrived we already felt this was going to be an amazing place. After the first minute we arrived they people who work there made us feel home and brought us to our room. They offered us coffee and gave an explanation about what they services were. We stayed there for 2 nights and would really recommend going to this place. From here we went for a tour by horse including our kids! They all had their own horse, which they insured was safe enough to do. It was such a beautiful experience and the route we did was very quite and nothing but nature around us. We took a bunch of beautiful pictures. From here we also went for a Jeep tour (including walking) to a part of the amazone jungle. We had to prepare the kids for this because it was a long walk, but so worth it! Tourguide was awesome and although we were the only family joining with kids we felt really welcome and safe during the whole tour. |Only thing to mention is that we would have prefered more options for food in the mornings therefor there was not allot choice for breakfast. |But the place is magic! ❣️Thank you for this experience and one that we can add to our memories...
