Hostal Patio del Río — Hotel in Cali

Patio del Río was a dream. As soon as I stepped into this place I knew it was where I had to stay. The family who owns it are really kind and peaceful. The whole place has a tranquil energy. It definitely has the capacity to be lively with lots of people but for the most part it was a tranquil Place. I designed a yoga sequence there. it always maintained this baseline of really good energy. Canela, the dog, is such a sweetheart. She barks but only because she wants you to pet her.

The kitchen was communal and a really nice spot to meet other travelers and family members. The private bathroom in my room was perfect for what I needed, in and out for me. The water was cold but Colombia is hot in the summer and I enjoyed the cold Showers as I found it to be great for my mental health. The pool was a perfect spot to lay next to in the mornings.

I spent 2 nights here during a week stay in the city and had such a good time I came back for another night. The hostel is super clean. It’s also tranquil enough to assure you’ll be well rested, and lively enough to ensure you won’t be bored. It’s beautifully decorated and located in a safe neighbourhood, a short walk away from the beautiful touristic sights.

I really enjoyed my stay at this beautiful hostal. The staff is super welcoming, helpful and friendly - thank you so much for making me feel at home here:)! The hostal is run by a creative afro collective which is well worth supporting in their great effort to make this lovely hostel a cool and fun place to stay! The room I stayed in is decorated super cute with crochet details and was calm, safe and perfect for a rest.
