Local House Hostel — Hotel in Cali

The staff are lovely, and helpful. Netflix was great and the events organised would have been good if we had longer.||However, despite there being 'no smoking' signs all over the place we were asked if we smoke or smoke weed to which we said no and then we were told you could smoke these on the top floor (practically under a no smoking sign btw). Then, our room was on the top floor but seemed far away enough not to carry. However, as the evening neared we found our room was smelling all night of smoke and drugs. The only upside was that our shower was so smelly that it covered this up. The noise also carried from those people.||We also put a wash on but before we did we specifically asked if they had a dryer because we had a night bus. After the clothes were washed and wet we were told the dryer was broken (which they would have known since another girl was still waiting for her clothes to dry 2 days later). So, we had to pack wet clothes which smelt our dry clothes in our bag and we had to get or whole bags washed again at our next destination. Very frustrating.lesson- don't do...

It was low season here so the hostel was empty apart from one other person and 3 long-term guests. The staff were nice, the kitchen was well-equipped, it was clean and the wifi was good. Otherwise the 6-bed dorm I was in was spacious but had only one window and the blind was broken and permanently down, so no natural light. Also the window faced onto a central courtyard and the staff were blaring music loudly all day and into the evening. So whilst the place should have been pretty chilled, it was not. Breakfast was supposed to be included but never appeared. Great location in a nice neighbourhood of Cali but in the end I preferred San Antonio, supposedly more gringo but actually not, maybe just because there weren't many tourists around generally. Local House is ok but there are better hostels in Cali for a similar price. Simplemente un Hostal más en la ciudad, definitivamente es nuevo pero no hay suficiente espacio en los baños privados, no hay estacionamiento para los vehículos, el agua caliente sale de repente con el peligro de quemarse, si no está avisado, el sistema de tuberías está mal instalado de tal manera que no se puede predecir, si alguien usa el agua en otro baños ¡usted será quemado por el agua caliente sin aviso! Lamentablemente no hay un aviso en las habitaciones privadas, ¡que avisen que las duchas queman con su agua caliente! durante el día en especial en la mañana el hostal esta como un lugar apropiado y hospitalario, pero lamentablemente cuando usted va a tomar su desayuno, desafortunadamente una creatura haces su necesidades en frente de sus narices y a nadie le importa hasta que uno va a quejarse a la recepción, que la mascota se hice pupú, en el medio del comedor, donde usted está desayunando, un tremendo perro se defeco dejando una montaña de excremento hediondo en el medio del comedor, horrorizando a los huéspedes y desafortunadamente contaminando su desayuno, creando una atmosfera desagradable y arruinándole a uno el día! Uno no quiere reportar este tipo de cosas para difamar a este hostal pero insisten tanto en este “Review” que uno no le queda más que reportar lo sucedido, |Durante la noche la administración permite a la gente emborracharse en el comedor y perturbar al todo el hostal hasta las primeras horas de la mañana, con el volumen alto de la música y manteniendo conversaciones a gritos toda la noche y los mismo manipulando la administración e ignorando a los huéspedes que están durmiendo, en nuestro caso personal, paramos en el hostal para seguir viajando a Bogotá, inapropiadamente, esta gente se cree que uno está en su actitud de disfrute e ignorando la importancia de la hospitalidad que se requiere. |Una vez se cobró el precio de la habitación a un precio XX y después a la semana siguiente se cobró mucho más caro, siendo que la reservación seguía al mismo precio, pero deliberadamente se cobra un aumento adicional, sin avisarle a uno donde uno esta forzado a pagar más de la cuenta reservada por internet! |La idea no es recomendarlo o no hacer el “Review” o no quejarse, pero han insistido tanto en este “Review” que aquí está, eso paso y que harán para...
