A little jungle paradise!|Wow, this may be the most beautiful spot in Palomino! Exquisitely crafted wooden cabins surrounded by an exotic garden paradise with songbirds, flowers and fruit trees. The design perfectly straddles the line between luxurious comfort and unique hostel charm. Waking up to all those different bird calls on the first morning of our stay was an unforgettable experience! Breakfast was another highlight. The outdoor dining area is slightly elevated, so you feel like you are eating in a boutique treehouse in and amongst the plants. Cindy, the housekeeper invariably greets you with a smile and offers you a coffee and a menu with a huge variety of breakfast options. We loved her French toast with homemade sourdough! During our extended stay, we especially enjoyed chatting with the impressive hosts Tati and Jorge (and their lively daughter Emilia) who were eager to point us to the best eating spots and activities. Jorge himself is a keen foodie and world traveler so be sure to ask him for recommendations on Paella and his current obsession: Japanese Ramen! Also, get their recommendations for beach access so you can avoid the more rowdy, touristy spots. It’s no exaggeration to say that our stay in Nuba was the best part of our entire trip to the Caribbean coast in Colombia. Don’t miss out on this hidden...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend were looking for a nice quiet place to relax and to end our 6 months travel well rested. This place matched our expectations! The owners make you feel at home and are really at your service. We were a bit scared that we would have no privacy and that the cabins are too close together but that was not the case. They let the garden grow so that you don’t see your Neighbors. The breakfast was spectaculair they serve every time in big proportions. I was reading a review here saying that the staff was unmotivated and unfriendly and we found that really weird. The staff was so nice and friendly and did everything to help us, especially Cindy gracias!
If you are coming for your rest I would maybe recommend to not come in the weekend. Colombians are free then and they can be with a big family staying at that time. And the only negative thing was that the bed was too hard for us. The owner was so kind to give us a top matras but it was so soft that we sank into the mattress.
Overall a really nice stay. I did nothing but swimming, reading and chill in the hammock and that was exactly...
Read moreThis has been a very pleasant experience.
The ladies who work here have such a nice and pleasant demeanor. They are patient with communication. I can’t imagine it’s easy dealing with many people who don’t speak Spanish but they do it with a smile. Everyone here makes you feel welcome.
There is no air conditioning but the fans have been perfect at night. They clean the cabins every day.
The food has been great.
You are in a jungle so be prepared for mosquitos and to feel sticky. There is not hot water but the cool showers actually feel really nice once you get use to it.
There are iguanas everywhere!!! And the birds make the most beautiful sounds. Also watching how fast the bamboo grows has been amazing.
Our kids have enjoyed the pool and having other kids around.
You are close to the Main Street of town where there are lots of really good restaurants.
Overall a...
