What an Amazing Beautiful Hotel with a breathtaking view. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Top of the line service. The food was great. I highly recommend their breakfast buffet very delicious. The caldo de sopa was so delicious especially for those mini hangovers haha. You can order your eggs however you like. 24/7 room service. If you come in late definitely recommend for you to order at the hotel. The Ceviche was amazing I had it three times. The empanadas were also delicious.
Jonathan greeted us at the door, very friendly and professional. He helped us with our check in and checking out ( which by the way, I had left my Jean jacket and he was quick to call me to come and get it, very nice and honest of him. ) Jonathan also advised us about certain places in Medellin, Where to eat besides the hotel, he also informed us about what places not to go since it was us three ladies together. Very pleased his his service.
Andres was amazing with helping us with our luggage. He was so fast with carrying our stuff that I didn’t even realize when he was in the elevator with our stuff. Amazing quick service. He didn’t even let me carry my purse since it was so heavy. Very pleased with his services. We had three checked in luggage’s, three carry on’s, and three big purses. Extremely helpful.
Diego Narváez ( Diegito ) the Bartender was beyond expectations. What a beautiful soul. What an amazing incredible person. Where do I begin by the fact that he made the most delicious and perfect muscle mule so refreshing and delicious you taste every ingredient I had so many I lost count. I had my all time favorite drink Dirty martini 🍸 and wow wow wow it was to perfection. I just can’t get over his muscle mule how delicious definitely a must. For breakfast because I am on vacation definitely an Expresso Martini. Diego exceeded every expectation of Drinks but definitely a must have will be an Expresso Martini and Muscle Mule. His mojitos were amazing as well. His cappuccino was so delicious for my coffee lover. He was so kind and very knowledgeable on everything we asked about Medellin. He took our lunch order and recommended me the ceviche I ordered it three times of how delicious it was. Everything he recommended we got. The empanadas, wings, burgers, very delicious. He also played every requested song we asked for. He asked us what brought us to Medellin and I told him my Best friends Birthday and without me asking he brought her a slice of beautifully decorated chocolate cake without asking that was such a beautiful gesture. His energy and attention was everything.
Alexis Castaneda the gardener was so nice and helpful as well. He kept the area so nice and clean the rooftop plants are so beautiful. The pool so clean with a beautiful view.
Luis Figueroa Gonzalez the maintenance guy was extremely helpful and so resourceful. Our ac wasn’t cooling and he was so fast to check it out along with finding a solution so fast with the filter. Our AC was cooling instantly!!! We were so happy because we loved our room specially our beautiful view 1501
I am beyond grateful and pleased with all of the staff.
I just can’t get over Diego’s hospitality. He definitely made my trip so enjoyable and he’s unforgettable. Very resourceful. I never take the time like this to write a review especially so soon to get back from a trip but definitely a must come back and I have two friends who are booking with York Luxury Suites Medellin. I was very pleased with everyone’s services.
Btw they have L’Occitane Products inside the room which are amazing
Thank you for making my stay very enjoyable...
Read moreThere were so many great things, but also lots of lacking areas. Over all still recieved a 4 star from me. Here is why, I know some things are picky, but I like ready a good review when picking a place to stay as we were here for almost a week.
Check-in only gave us one key when two of us were checking in the security guy brought our bags up to our room which was nice
Room - the room itself is very nice and we'll decorated there are actually two bathrooms in our room type. 1 half bath and 1 full bath with shower swived tv between bedroom and living room huge windows make the room feel nice and bright I had to wash the wall as there was wine splatter all down it, house keeping is good but misses the fine details sometimes.
Terrace - it is large with Ok furniture that dosent look like it gets attended to very often
Room amenities - there are several snacks, drinks and alcoholic beverages available for purchase at about a 5x markup, but when your hungry/ thirsty they are available and still not too badly priced. there is a full kitchen, but nothing to use to actually clean or dry dishes there is a giant laundry room closet with no washer or dryer, it is a complete waist of space. Could use at lease a bar to hang clothes on or a shoe rack to make it useful Only one wine glass available, but doubles of all the rest Only one free coffee pod provided when there are two of us wifi is actually not that great. When streaming a Netflix movie it even buffers there are buttons by the bed to open and close the curtains, but they don't work.....we figured out that you need to ask google to close them.
Housekeeping - we were only given one face clothon arrival, when we went to use it we discovered it was dirty. no hand towels were provided initially they did do better on the following days
Front desk when I called down to say that we were only given one dirty wash cloth and no hand towels, it took three call downs for them to actually answer. She said she would send someone right up, no one ever came
Restaurant the restaurant is really well designed and decorated. expect very slow service and inattentive wait staff most of the time when we got our bill some of the prices listed on the menu compared to the bill didn't match up. only clumsy paper menus stapled at the top were available....this changed half way through our stay as they have upgraded to a qr code none of the staff we had spoke English, and there is no English menu. So if you cant read or understand spanish, make sure to use your Google lens or something similar to translate the menu....qr code still didn't have a English menu when we were there
Included breakfast there is no menu but you can order a number of things from the kitchen so make sure to ask and be clear about your order. You can get eggs anyway you want, sides of bacon, and other fresh options. On a Monday at 9 am it was nice and quiet with only a couple other tables and our eggs took 5 minutes vs an hour on the weekend. don't go at prime time around 10 am on a Saturday.....its a crazy place. Buffet was very picked over. Staff was running around like crazy, we put in our order for eggs and after waiting an hour I finally flagged our waiter down and he forgot to put our order in. So 1.5 hours later we recieved a small omelette (not great) and Eggs Benedict (which were actually quite good). there are a large variety of items, but go early before the crowd as it is crazy on the weekend around 10 am.
Overall great stay, but "luxury" is not quite the word yet, but with some changes...
Read moreDon’t be fooled by the name, this is not a luxury establishment, particularly when it comes to service.
Communication prior to arrival: Absolutely non existent service here. After booking online I sent three emails to the hotel, none were answered. I sent a WhatsApp message to the reservations account and after 3 days of no reply, a follow up message was finally answered. I will say that the lady running the Events WhatsApp account was good at replying. During our stay a relative wanted to surprise us with a bottle of champagne but her emails and calls went unanswered.
Front desk: The service at the front desk was cold and unfriendly and we were barely greeted on arrival. Check in process was extremely slow and again unfriendly, just putting a sheet in front of the customer to be signed without even an explanations. Honestly you would get much better service at a hostel.
Breakfast: Each morning was a bit of a mess. On our first day we order fried eggs and when they hadn’t arrived after 25 minutes we left. On our second day we sat beside two American couples who also couldn’t believe how poor and slow the service was as we both had to ask twice for milk and coffee. I will say the bald waiter and the waitress with purple and white braids were helpful. Breakfast selection itself was mostly fruit and cold cuts which were fine, pastries weren’t great. There were also some hot options like arepas. Again we never received the hot food we ordered so cannot comment on the quality.
Dinner: We pre booked attendance at the Christmas Eve dinner and had to pay in advance even though we were hotel guests which was very strange and certainly not luxury. The dinner turned out to be 6 courses of all pre-plated food, none of which were hot. Any decent catering team should be able to cook decent hot meals for the small crown that was in attendance. One of our onigiri had a stone in it, the “glass” of wine was tiny and the “champagne” was awful. I will say that the lady who seemed to be running the event was pleasant and the entertainment duo were good. We ordered room service of pasta and bean and pork casserole one night which was tasty although rather than simply signing for the meal you have to pay for the meal in your room at that time, again luxury is not a concept here.
Rooms: The rooms were ok with a comfortable bed but when we arrived there was a dirty cup, the hob had a sticky substance all over it and the phone didn’t work. Despite two guests staying we were given the grand total of 1 normal and 1 decaf coffee pod. During our stay, housekeeping didn’t arrive until after 5pm each day, I have literally never experience this, even in a 1 star hotel.
Amenities: The pool and gym area were nice and clean and the pool in particular had good views from the rooftop.
Preferred Hotels Membership: As a Titanium tier Preferred member I enjoy staying at member hotels and actually used my member points to cover this stay. Titanium members generally receive a complimentary welcome amenity, food and beverage offering etc but upon check-in the receptionist Alvaro knew nothing about the scheme and when asked said he would ask his supervisor about what they could offer and of course we never heard from him again. Honestly I am shocked this establishment is part of the Preferred group and would imagine it probably won’t stay so for long.
In summary I would say if you are looking for a luxury experience don’t waste your money here, there are much better options in Medellin at this price point. Based on this total lack of service and value I can only...
