I do not recommend.
The service in the hotel was horrible.
My husband had ordered me room service while he was somewhere else and I received a plate of food (thinking that is what he ordered) and I proceed to pay for it. Then the actual plate that he ordered arrived so I returned the wrong plate that was given to me and did not pay for the right plate as I had already paid for the wrong one. At check out, I was told they looked at the cameras and the plate (the wrong one) had been touched so now I needed to pay for both plates. I immediately proceeded to state to them that this was their fault for giving me the wrong plate and I was not going to pay for their wrong doing. The manager Daniel (I believe that is his name) tried to school us by saying that the right thing was to pay for both plates even though it was their fault they sent me two plates without me being aware of it.
Talking about the food, the restaurant food is horrible. I got a burger that was completely raw, I could scrape the raw meat from the burger. I order a chicken soup (crema de pollo) and I got a mushroom one instead.
The staff starts knocking in your room early in the morning, to check if you want laundry services, to check if you consumed anything from the fridge, then house keeping. So forget about being able to rest at that hotel. I understand about housekeeping but no need to knock on our doors 2-4 times in the morning.
Overall, horrible service, horrible food, horrible management, and you won’t be able to rest there.
I would recommend staying anywhere else for...
Read moreBeware. This hotel is not what you would expect for the price and location. I have had good stays with Estelar in Yopal and Paipa so I was looking forward to Medellin. They were accommodating of our early arrival, although our first room was occupied even though they gave us keys and I probably scared the poor lady who was sleeping there half to death. But when we went to dine at the Sky Bar, and when we left we were given the option to charge to our room, which we did. The bartender called down to verify the room. Fast forward to a half hour or so later. The phone rings and the bartender tells me the charges are not approved and we need to go up and pay directly. This is strange since I gave my card at check in. So we go down to reception where I learn the stunning fact (apparently unknown to the bartender) that this purported four star hotel doesn’t allow guests to charge dinners or bar tabs to their rooms, but they must be paid directly. I’ve visited hostels that offer this basic convenience, but it apparently it is beyond the ability of this location. The Estelar chain should really check into how this place is run because at their purported level in the market, policies more reminiscent of small town motels do not...
Read moreMy husband and I booked into this hotel yesterday. We arrived at the hotel at 11am and were told they could not offer us an early check in due to hotel policy - I totally respect their 3pm check in policy however, we had travelled all night without a wink of sleep so the option of being able to check in early even if there was a cost involved would have been appreciated.|The room we booked is a junior suite, there is a leak when the air con is turned on and the smell from the kitchen sink is absolutely unbearable. We have complained twice and they sent an engineer to look at it twice yet nothing has been done and the suite absolutely stinks of sewage! As if the smell isn’t bad enough, we cannot turn on the air con due to to the leak! |Buffet breakfast options are average and there are 5 members of staff standing around chatting watching guests eating which feels very uncomfortable. |It is very hard to communicate with staff at this hotel as their English is as bad as my bad Spanish which makes it very tricky and frustrating on both parts I’m sure. |The location of this hotel is good however it’s hard to recommend given the issues we have...
