Amateur - a terrible experience - stay away!
I'm a CHA, certified hotel administrator, and this property looks lovely but absolutely lacks any service culture - some of the most poorly trained staff (and totally absent and unresponsive management) I've ever experienced. No hot water ("there should be some"), no internet in-room ("there should be some"), someone's toilet garbage left behind, and aloof, disorganized, staffing - when given an opportunity to rectify the dissatisfaction, management's post-stay response was first to ignore the chance to get to the bottom of the issues and then follow up by being dishonest. The corporate offices ask you to be patient awaiting a resolution (or response period) and add nothing to the process. Any hotelier or hotel company that disregards service issues operates from a perspective of "ignore the unhappy customer and they'll eventually go away" doesn't deserve my business or yours. Read moreThe hotel is in a beautiful old monastery with a large cloister around which the rooms are located. The room they gave me had not been made yet when I arrived at 4 pm but anyway I got out sightseeing and it was obviously ready when I came back. The room was large with nice old furniture and a choice of pillows of different softness. Much appreciated! There is a fridge but no complimentary water as you would expect from a hotel of this kind in a country with non drinkable water. No coffee or tea. Bathroom large enough with a good shower. Good Wifi. The restaurant is good ( I had prawn ceviche and pork ribs on mashed avocado) and breakfast is buffet and the best I have had till now in Colombia: three kinds of juice, fresh fruit, ham and cheese, different kinds of bread, two kinds of cereals with milk or yogurt, eggs made on the spot. The location is excellent, in the middle...
Read moreA great classic hotel in the city of Popayan that shows how all was in the 1600.
It is an excellent hotel if you want to be transported to the in history.
The rooms are big, the beds conserve the authenticity of the history of the city. The insides of the hotel in the general spaces are wonderful and plays great with the idea to conserve all the little moments of Colombias history.
I hope that in the future they resolve the problem of the quality of the diner, as in this moment you want a great medium rare steak in an “excellent” place.
The service and the waiters are magnificent people and help you with all the things that you need on the table, the wine is delicious in all the presentation, the natural juices are fresh, and the coming of the dishes is very fast and with a very very beautiful presentation.
For the wheelchairs it is going to be...
